Hope

The Noise Of Despair Sometimes sadness, despair, and discouragement seem so heavy and dark that we can’t even hear the pin-prick light of possibility. Hope is painfully and thoroughly dead. Change seems impossible; the chains are too strong. Nevertheless, neither the people’s lack of faith, Moses’ doubt, nor Pharaoh’s hard heart were able to prevent God’s “mighty hand” from bringing more than a million people out of slavery. That’s our God! Prayer: Dear Lord, some days I admit I feel overwhelmed. Doubt and depression often move in on hope and health. Help me tune out Satan’s negativity, and tune in the positive messages from your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 28
PRAYER JOURNAL
[Scheduled Reading: Psalm 55-84]
I started journaling prayers to God nearly twenty years ago.
One of the great benefits of journaling is being able to go back and review various stages of my life.
I can see how God carried me through seasons of trials and triumphs, joys and disappointments. I can see repeated themes that help me understand and better understand God.
Most importantly, I see the proof and faithfulness of God’s attention to my life. That’s comforting.
I don’t journal every day. Sometimes I go weeks or months without journaling. Still I have filled several notebooks over the years of my thoughts, prayers and discussions with God.
Keep in mind that as you read through the Psalms, you're reading through someone prayer journal. Pretty cool.
