2 Corinthians 10:12“…but they measuring themselves by themselves… are not wise.”

Psalm 139:14“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”

✍️ Devotional Thought

One of the quickest ways to lose joy in writing…

is comparison.

You see someone else finishing their book.Someone else publishing.Someone else gaining attention.

And suddenly, your journey doesn’t feel like enough.

You may start to think:

“Why am I not there yet?”“Their writing is better than mine.”“Maybe I’m not cut out for this.”

But God never asked you to compare.

He asked you to be faithful to your calling.

Galatians reminds us to focus on our own work.

Not someone else’s timeline.Not someone else’s journey.Not someone else’s success.

Your assignment is unique.

2 Corinthians tells us that comparing ourselves to others is not wise.

Why?

Because you don’t see their full story.You don’t know their process.And most importantly…

You are not called to be them.

Psalm 139 reminds us that you were created intentionally.

That includes your voice.Your story.Your message.

God didn’t make a mistake when He chose you to write what you’re writing.

Your words carry something different.Something specific.Something only you can share.

So today…

Release comparison.

Celebrate others—but don’t measure yourself against them.

Stay in your lane.Stay in your calling.Stay focused on what God has given you to write.

Because when you walk in your purpose…

You don’t need to compete.
