🌿 Saturday, April 4, 2026✨ Let God Lead the Story ✨
đź“– Scripture (KJV)
Proverbs 16:9“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Psalm 37:23“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”
Isaiah 55:8–9“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD…”
✍️ Devotional Thought
As writers, we often begin with a plan.
We outline chapters. We map out characters. We think we know exactly where the story is going.
But sometimes…
The story changes.
A new idea comes.A different direction unfolds.Something unexpected stirs in your heart.
And in those moments, it can feel confusing.
This wasn’t my plan. This isn’t how I thought it would go.
But what if… it’s exactly how God planned it?
Proverbs reminds us that while we make our plans, it is the Lord who directs our steps.
That includes your writing.
Your story may not unfold the way you expected…
But God sees the full picture.
He knows what message needs to be shared. He knows what someone else needs to hear.He knows how your story can impact lives.
Psalm 37 tells us that our steps are ordered by Him.
Even the changes.Even the pauses.Even the unexpected turns.
Isaiah reminds us that His ways are higher than ours.
So if your writing takes a turn…
If your message begins to shift…
If your heart feels led in a new direction…
Pause and listen.
God may be guiding your story into something even greater than you imagined.
So today, release the need to control every detail.
Let Him lead.
Let Him guide your words.Let Him shape your message.Let Him direct your story.
Because when God leads…
The story will always end exactly where it needs to be.
🌿 Saturday Reflection
Am I holding too tightly to my own writing plans?
Have I sensed God leading me in a different direction?
What would it look like to trust Him fully with my story?
🙏 Prayer
Father,Thank You for guiding my steps and leading my path. Help me to trust You even when things don’t go as I planned. Give me a listening heart and a willing spirit to follow wherever You lead. Shape my writing according to Your purpose and let every word reflect Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
