Colossians 3:17“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”

✍️ Devotional Thought

As writers, it’s easy to focus on outcomes.

How many pages we’ve written.How many people will read it.How successful it might become.

But today, God gently shifts our focus…

From outcome…to purpose.

1 Corinthians reminds us that everything we do—every action, every word—is meant to bring glory to God.

That includes your writing.

Not just the finished book…Not just the published work…

But every step along the way.

The quiet moments.The unseen effort.The faithful obedience.

John tells us that when we bear fruit, it glorifies the Father.

That means your writing is not just about expression…

It’s about impact.

When your words encourage someone…When your story brings hope…When your message points someone to Jesus…

That is fruit.

Colossians reminds us to do everything in His name.

So as you write, ask yourself:

Am I writing for recognition…or for His glory?

Because when your writing is rooted in glorifying God…

✨ The pressure lifts✨ The purpose becomes clear✨ The impact becomes eternal

You don’t have to strive for perfection.

You don’t have to chase approval.

You simply write…

With a heart that says,“Lord, use this for Your glory.”

And when you do…

Every word becomes meaningful.

Why am I writing—what is my true motivation?

What would change if I focused more on purpose than outcome?
