đź’ś Agape Love Author Devotional Tuesday, February 24 Progress Over Perfection

Progress Over Perfection

đź“– Scripture (KJV) Hebrews 12:11

“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

Proverbs 13:4

“The soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”

✍️ Devotional Thought

Monday was about commitment.

Tuesday is about follow-through.

The excitement of starting something new can fade quickly. The hard part isn’t beginning — it’s continuing.

Some days the words flow. Some days they crawl. Some days editing feels like wrestling your own thoughts.

But fruit comes from diligence — not bursts of motivation.

Progress over perfection.

You don’t need 5,000 perfect words. You need faithful words.

Even 300 words move the story forward.Even 2 pages edited matter.Even 20 minutes of focus builds discipline.

Writers who finish aren’t the most inspired — they’re the most consistent.

And accountability helps consistency grow.

So today we measure progress — not to pressure ourselves, but to steward our calling well.

Because small daily steps build completed books.

🌿 Reflection

  • Did I write yesterday?

  • What is today’s realistic word goal?

  • Am I waiting for perfect conditions?

🙏 Prayer

Lord,Help me choose diligence over distraction. Teach me to value steady progress. Strengthen my focus today. Let each word I write serve Your purpose and move me closer to completion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
