Trust the Author of Your Story
Scripture:
Psalm 37:5 (KJV)
"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
One of the hardest things for writers is not knowing how the story will unfold.
We like outlines.
We like plans.
We like knowing how things are going to turn out.
But life doesn't always come with a table of contents.
Sometimes we find ourselves in unexpected chapters.
Chapters of waiting.
Chapters of uncertainty.
Chapters that seem confusing and unfinished.
And if we're honest, there are moments when we wonder what God is doing.
Why hasn't the door opened?
Why is the process taking so long?
Why does the path ahead seem unclear?
Yet Proverbs reminds us not to lean on our own understanding.
Because God's ways are higher than ours.
He sees what we cannot see.
He knows the readers who need your message.
He knows the opportunities that are still ahead.
And He knows how every chapter fits into His greater plan.
As authors, we spend countless hours creating stories.
But the greatest comfort we can have is knowing that we are not writing our lives alone.
The Author of our story is perfect.
He never loses sight of the ending.
He never forgets a promise.
And He never abandons His work.
So when you don't understand the chapter you're in, trust Him.
When progress seems slow, trust Him.
When the future feels uncertain, trust Him.
Because the same God who planted the dream within your heart is faithfully guiding every step along the way.
And one day, you'll look back and see that even the difficult chapters had a purpose.
Daily Reflection
đź’ś Am I trying to understand everything instead of trusting God?
đź’ś What area of my writing journey do I need to surrender to Him?
đź’ś Have I been discouraged by unanswered questions?
đź’ś How can I trust God more fully today?
đź’ś What promise from His Word can I hold onto?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being the Author of my life. Thank You for seeing the ending from the beginning and for faithfully guiding every step of my journey. Help me to trust You when I don't understand and to lean upon Your wisdom rather than my own. Give me peace in uncertain seasons and confidence that You are working all things together for good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
đź’ś Author Encouragement
You don't have to understand every chapter.
You simply have to trust the One who does.
Keep writing.
Keep believing.
Keep trusting the Author of your story.
He already knows how beautifully it ends. ✍️📖💜
