The Calling Continues

You Found the Purpose—Now Keep Walking in It

đź“– Theme Verse

“Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.”— 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV)

🌅 Good Morning, Dear Friends!

Here we are—the final day of August and the final day of our month-long Bible study:

Discovering Your God-Given Calling

What a journey we have taken together!

But today isn't really an ending.

It's a beginning.

We've spent this month learning how to recognize God's calling, discover our gifts, trust His timing, walk through closed doors, surrender our plans, serve others, find courage, remain rooted in God's Word, and follow Jesus wherever He leads.

But discovering your calling was never meant to end with a notebook full of answers.

Eventually, we have to get up and walk.

Today I want to leave you with this truth:

You don't have to know everything God will do with your life to faithfully live the part He has given you today.

đź“– TODAY'S SCRIPTURE READING

1 Thessalonians 5:23–24Ephesians 2:10Philippians 1:6Philippians 3:12–14Proverbs 3:5–6Hebrews 12:1–22 Timothy 1:8–9

✝️ GOD ISN'T FINISHED WITH YOU

Philippians 1:6 says:

“Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Maybe you entered August hoping God would give you one dramatic answer:

“THIS is your calling.”

Maybe He did.

But perhaps He did something different.

Maybe He showed you a gift you had overlooked.

Maybe He reminded you of a burden He placed on your heart years ago.

Maybe He showed you how your testimony could help someone.

Maybe He revealed something you need to surrender.

Maybe He closed a door.

Maybe He opened one.

Maybe He simply taught you to trust Him more.

Don't underestimate that.

Sometimes discovering our calling begins by becoming more sensitive to the One doing the calling.

🌿 YOUR CALLING MAY UNFOLD ONE STEP AT A TIME

We often want God to show us the entire plan.

But Scripture reminds us:

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”— Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

A lamp gives enough light for the next steps.

God may not show you where you'll be five years from now.

But He can show you how to be faithful today.

Perhaps today's assignment is simply:

Make the phone call.

Write the first page.

Apply for the opportunity.

Encourage someone.

Serve at church.

Forgive someone.

Finish what you started.

Pray for someone.

Study.

Prepare.

Wait faithfully.

Or take the step you've been afraid to take.

Don't become so focused on your future calling that you miss today's assignment.

đź’ś YOUR CALLING IS NOT YOUR TITLE

This may be one of the most important lessons we carry from August.

Calling is bigger than a job title.

Jobs can change.

Businesses can change.

Ministries can change.

Positions can change.

Our seasons of life can change.

But wherever God places us, we can still fulfill our fundamental calling:

Love God.

Love people.

Share Jesus.

Serve faithfully.

Stand upon God's Word.

Use what He has placed in our hands.

Bring Him glory.

You don't need a microphone to have a ministry.

You don't need thousands of followers to influence someone.

You don't need a title to serve.

Sometimes the most important Kingdom work happens where nobody applauds.

🌻 DON'T COMPARE YOUR CALLING

Before we close August, let's leave comparison behind.

Someone else's calling may look bigger.

Someone else's ministry may grow faster.

Someone else's opportunity may come sooner.

Someone else's gifts may receive more attention.

But God isn't going to ask you why you weren't someone else.

He asks you to be faithful with what He entrusted to you.

Remember what Jesus said in the parable of the talents:

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant...”— Matthew 25:21 (KJV)

Not famous servant.

Not popular servant.

Not perfect servant.

Faithful servant.

May that be our goal.

✝️ DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU FEEL READY

If we wait until we feel completely qualified, confident, prepared, and fearless, we may wait forever.

Moses felt inadequate.

Gideon felt insignificant.

Jeremiah felt too young.

Peter made mistakes.

David was overlooked.

Yet God used them.

God knows your weaknesses.

He knew them when He called you.

Your calling isn't dependent upon your ability to do everything perfectly.

It depends upon your willingness to depend upon Him.

🌿 KEEP YOUR CALLING CLOSE TO JESUS

Never allow the assignment to become more important than the One who assigned it.

You can become so busy working for God that you neglect walking with God.

Protect your relationship with Jesus.

Pray.

Read His Word.

Worship.

Listen.

Rest.

Remain teachable.

Stay humble.

Let God correct you when necessary.

Your calling should continually draw you closer to Christ.

Because ultimately:

Our greatest calling is still, “Follow Me.”

đź’ś AUGUST FINAL REFLECTION

Take a little extra time with today's questions.

Looking Back

  1. What was the biggest lesson God taught me during August?

  2. What gift or ability did I recognize?

  3. What experiences from my past could God use?

  4. What fear did God challenge me to confront?

  5. What did I learn about waiting?

  6. What did I learn about closed doors?

  7. What do I need to surrender?

Looking Forward

  1. What is one step God may be asking me to take?

  2. Who can I serve or encourage?

  3. What gift can I begin using more intentionally?

  4. What spiritual habit do I need to strengthen?

  5. What am I still praying about?

And finally:

13. If God says, “Will you follow Me?”—what will my answer be?

🙏 OUR FINAL AUGUST PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for walking with us throughout this month.

Thank You for every Scripture we've studied, every lesson we've learned, every prayer we've prayed, and every truth You've placed in our hearts.

Thank You for calling ordinary people to accomplish Your purposes.

Lord, take everything You've taught me this month and help me live it.

I surrender my gifts to You.

I surrender my dreams.

I surrender my plans.

I surrender my past.

I surrender my future.

I surrender my need to understand every detail.

Help me stop comparing my journey with others.

Give me courage when You tell me to move.

Give me patience when You tell me to wait.

Give me wisdom when I need direction.

Give me humility when You give me influence.

And give me faith to trust You when the road changes.

Above every assignment, I choose Jesus.

Wherever You lead...

I will follow.

Whatever You ask...

I will trust You.

However You use me...

May You receive the glory.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

🌼 AUGUST FINAL CHALLENGE

Write Your Calling Commitment

On the final page of your August notes, write:

MY CALLING COMMITMENT — AUGUST 31, 2026

Lord, my life belongs to You.

I will follow where You lead.

I will use what You have placed in my hands.

I will stop comparing my calling with someone else's.

I will trust Your timing.

I will remain faithful during preparation.

I will accept Your correction and redirection.

I will stay rooted in Your Word.

I will serve others with humility.

I will obey even when obedience requires courage.

And when I don't know what comes next...

I WILL KEEP FOLLOWING JESUS.

Sign your name underneath it.

Keep it somewhere you can return to when doubt comes.

🌟 ONE LAST AUGUST ENCOURAGEMENT

Perhaps you still don't completely understand your calling.

That's okay.

God isn't asking you to understand the entire journey today.

He's asking you to trust Him with the next step.

“Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.”— 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV)

The same God who called you will equip you.

The same God who opened the door will walk through it with you.

The same God who redirects you will guide you.

The same God who began the work will continue it.

August may be ending. Your calling isn't.

🛡️⚔️ TOMORROW WE BEGIN!

Tomorrow is September 1, and we're beginning an entirely new Agape Love Bible Study:

🛡️ PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD

Standing Strong in a Spiritual Battle

Our foundation passage will be:

Ephesians 6:10–18 (KJV)

We'll spend September learning about:

🛡️ The Belt of Truth

❤️ The Breastplate of Righteousness

👣 The Gospel of Peace

🛡️ The Shield of Faith

đź‘‘ The Helmet of Salvation

⚔️ The Sword of the Spirit

🙏 Praying Always

And we'll learn how these truths apply to our everyday lives.

How do we guard our minds?

How do we recognize lies?

How do we stand against temptation?

How does faith extinguish fiery darts?

How do we use God's Word during spiritual battles?

How do we pray for our families?

How do we stand firmly without living in fear?

We're going to dig into all of it.

đź“– TONIGHT'S SEPTEMBER PREPARATION

Before tomorrow's study:

Read Ephesians 6:10–18 (KJV).

Then pray:

“Lord, prepare my heart. Teach me how to stand strong in You.”

Bring your Bible.

Bring your journal.

Bring your highlighters.

And invite someone to join us.

Because tomorrow...

🛡️ WE PUT ON THE ARMOR.

🌻 CLOSING THOUGHT

August taught us:

YOU ARE CALLED.

September will teach us:

YOU ARE EQUIPPED.

The God who gives the assignment also provides what we need to stand.

So as we close our study on Discovering Your God-Given Calling, carry this with you:

Stay humble.

Stay obedient.

Stay in God's Word.

Stay close to Jesus.

Use what He has given you.

Trust where He leads you.

And never forget:

Your calling isn't about making your name known.

It's about making JESUS known.

Goodbye, August. đź’ś

Thank You, Lord, for everything You taught us.

And hello, September. 🛡️⚔️

We're ready to put on the Whole Armor of God!
