✍️ Agape Love Publishing – Author DevotionalMonday, August 24A New Week—Pick Up the Pen Again

A New Week—Pick Up the Pen Again

Scripture

"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)

Good Monday morning, authors! 💜📖

A new week has arrived.

A fresh Monday. A fresh opportunity. Another blank page waiting to be written.

Maybe you are beginning this week excited and full of ideas. Or perhaps you're looking at an unfinished manuscript wondering how you're ever going to complete it.

Maybe you haven't written anything in weeks.

Perhaps life became busy.

Perhaps discouragement crept in.

Perhaps you received criticism that hurt more than you expected.

Or maybe you simply became tired.

Whatever last week looked like, today you can pick up the pen again.

🌿 You Don't Have to Start Over—Just Start Again

There is a difference.

Everything you've already learned still matters.

Every page you've written still counts.

Every mistake has taught you something.

Every rejection has strengthened you.

Every season—even the quiet ones—has become part of your journey.

Sometimes we think starting again means we've failed.

It doesn't.

Starting again means we haven't quit.

God's mercies are new every morning, and sometimes Monday is simply our reminder that yesterday doesn't get to determine what we do today.

💜 Give God the Work Before You Begin the Work

Proverbs 16:3 tells us:

"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."

Before opening your manuscript today, pray over it.

Before deciding what your next book should be, ask God for direction.

Before worrying about publishing, marketing, sales, or reviews, surrender the entire journey to Him.

We often ask God to bless our plans after we've already made them.

What if we began this week differently?

"Lord, what would You have me do with the gift You've given me?"

Then listen.

He may tell you to finish something.

He may give you something new.

He may tell you to wait.

He may lead you to learn something you need for the next stage.

Whatever He says, trust His direction.

✍️ Don't Become Overwhelmed by the Whole Book

A finished book can look enormous when you're staring at an empty page.

So don't write the whole book today.

Write today's part.

One paragraph.

One page.

One scene.

One devotional.

One character description.

One outline.

One hour of editing.

One small step taken faithfully.

That's how books get written.

We don't usually finish our calling in one giant leap.

We walk it out through thousands of little acts of obedience.

🌸 Your Monday Doesn't Have to Be Perfect

Maybe you'll sit down to write today and the words won't flow.

Write anyway.

Maybe you'll read yesterday's work and decide half of it needs rewriting.

That's part of being an author.

Maybe you'll discover that your story needs to go in a completely different direction.

That's okay too.

Progress isn't always adding words. Sometimes progress is discovering what needs to change.

Give yourself permission to learn.

Give yourself permission to grow.

And give yourself permission to be a work in progress while your manuscript is a work in progress.

God isn't finished with either one.

🙏 Monday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of another Monday and another opportunity to use the talents You have placed within us.

Today we commit our writing to You.

Our books.

Our ideas.

Our unfinished manuscripts.

Our publishing dreams.

Our successes.

Our disappointments.

And even our fears.

Direct our thoughts and guide our words.

Help us write with excellence without becoming trapped by perfection.

Give us discipline when motivation disappears and courage when doubt whispers that we should quit.

Most importantly, may the words we write encourage, inspire, teach, comfort, and glorify You.

We place both the work and the results into Your hands.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ Today's Author Challenge: The Monday 30

Set aside 30 minutes today for your writing journey.

Choose ONE thing:

📖 Write a page.

✍️ Edit a chapter.

📝 Outline your next section.

📚 Research publishing.

💻 Work on your author platform.

🙏 Pray specifically over your manuscript.

💜 Reopen something you've abandoned.

Thirty minutes may not finish your book.

But thirty faithful minutes can move you closer to finishing it.

💜 Monday Authors Hub Roll Call!

It's a new week, so let's hear what everyone is working on!

Tell us your ONE author goal for this week.

And please share where you are in your journey:

💡 I have a book idea.✍️ I'm writing.📝 I'm editing.📚 I'm preparing to publish.🎉 I'm a published author.

Published authors—drop your book links in the comments! 📚

Tell us what your book is about and where we can find it.

Aspiring authors, share your working titles and book ideas too.

Then find another writer in the comments and encourage them. Let's make this a community where we don't simply promote ourselves—we genuinely support one another.

🌷 Today's Encouragement

"You don't have to finish the entire story today. Just be faithful with the page God has placed in front of you."

A new week is here.

Don't carry last week's discouragement into today's opportunity.

Open the notebook.

Turn on the computer.

Say a prayer.

Take the next step.

And pick up the pen again.

Who knows?

The page you write this Monday may eventually become someone's favorite chapter. 💜

Happy Monday & Happy Writing!
