💜 Turn the Page — Don't Carry Yesterday's Discouragement Into Tomorrow's Story!

Today's Scripture (KJV)

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," — Philippians 3:13

Good Wednesday morning, authors, writers, and future authors! ☕📖✍️

Can you believe we're already at the last day of September?

Tomorrow begins a brand-new month, and as I sit here thinking about the writing journey, something comes to mind.

Sometimes the hardest page to turn isn't the one in our manuscript. It's the one in our own lives.

Maybe September wasn't everything you hoped it would be.

Maybe you planned to finish your book, but life got in the way.

Maybe you submitted your manuscript and received a rejection.

Maybe someone criticized your writing.

Maybe your book sales were disappointing.

Maybe you spent more time worrying about writing than actually doing it.

Or perhaps you had a wonderful month, accomplished your goals, and are excited about what comes next.

Wherever you find yourself this morning, I want to encourage you:

Don't let yesterday's disappointments steal tomorrow's possibilities.

🌿 Every Author Has Pages They Would Like to Rewrite

Have you ever finished writing a chapter, gone back to read it, and thought:

"Well, that certainly sounded better in my head!" 😂

I think every writer has experienced that moment.

Sometimes we write something that simply doesn't work.

We may have to delete a paragraph, rearrange an entire chapter, or even start over.

But here's the beautiful thing about writing.

A chapter that needs improvement doesn't mean the entire book is worthless.

And the same is true in life.

Maybe you made mistakes this month.

Maybe you procrastinated.

Maybe you allowed fear to stop you.

Maybe you compared your progress to another author's success.

Learn from those experiences, but don't spend October punishing yourself for September.

God's mercies are new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us:

"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

What a beautiful promise!

We serve a God who offers grace for today and hope for tomorrow.

💜 You Cannot Write Tomorrow's Chapter While Refusing to Turn Yesterday's Page

Think about that for a moment.

Imagine reading a book but refusing to turn the page because something disappointing happened in Chapter Five.

You would never discover what happened in Chapter Six!

Yet sometimes that's exactly what we do with our dreams.

We hold on to an unkind comment.

We replay a rejection.

We dwell on a mistake.

We keep reminding ourselves of everything we haven't accomplished.

And before long, we're so focused on what happened that we've stopped moving forward.

Friend, sometimes you have to say:

"I learned from that chapter, but I'm not going to live there forever."

Turn the page.

Pray.

Forgive.

Learn.

Grow.

And keep writing.

✍️ Don't Let the Calendar Become Your Enemy

I want to remind you of something important as September comes to an end.

Just because the month is ending doesn't mean your opportunity is ending.

You don't have to finish everything by midnight tonight.

You don't have to enter October with a completed manuscript.

You don't have to publish a book simply because you set an earlier deadline.

Goals are important.

Deadlines can help us stay accountable.

But sometimes plans need adjusting.

There is a difference between giving up and giving yourself a realistic new deadline.

Be disciplined enough to keep working and gracious enough to recognize when life requires an adjustment.

Perhaps October will be the month you finish.

Perhaps it will be the month you begin.

Perhaps it will be the month you learn something that makes your book stronger.

Whatever the case, don't stop growing.

🌸 Your Next Chapter May Surprise You

One of the things I love about writing is how a story can surprise even the person writing it.

You begin with one idea, and suddenly a character takes the story in an unexpected direction.

A new possibility develops.

An overlooked detail becomes important.

And what you originally thought would happen changes.

Life can be like that too.

We make plans, but God sees things we cannot.

Proverbs 16:9 tells us:

"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." (KJV)

We can make plans for our writing journey while remaining open to God's direction.

Maybe the next opportunity will be different from what you imagined.

Maybe someone will encourage you.

Maybe you'll discover a new publishing resource.

Maybe you'll finally find the courage to write the story you've been carrying for years.

We don't know what October holds.

But we can enter it with prayer, purpose, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

🙏 Wednesday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing us to the final day of September.

Thank You for every blessing, lesson, opportunity, and accomplishment this month has brought.

Lord, today I pray for every author, writer, and future author reading these words.

For those who accomplished their goals, help them remain thankful and humble.

For those who fell short, remind them that disappointment doesn't have to become defeat.

For those who have experienced rejection, restore their courage.

For those who have been discouraged by the opinions of others, help them recognize their worth in You.

And for those who have been afraid to begin, give them the confidence to take that first step.

As we prepare for October, help us release unnecessary guilt, bitterness, comparison, and fear.

Teach us to learn from yesterday without becoming trapped in it.

Guide our thoughts.

Strengthen our creativity.

Give us discipline and wisdom.

Help us encourage other authors and celebrate their accomplishments.

And Lord, whatever stories You lead us to write, may our words reflect truth, kindness, hope, and love.

Thank You for being faithful through every chapter of our lives.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ TODAY'S AUTHOR CHALLENGE

Close September With Gratitude — Open October With Purpose!

Before the day ends, take a few minutes to reflect on your writing journey.

My Author Reflection Journal

1. One thing I accomplished in September

2. One lesson I learned

3. One disappointment I'm choosing to release

4. One writing goal for October

5. One author I can encourage today

 Copy my reflections

You don't need twenty goals for October.

Start with one meaningful goal and take consistent steps toward it.

Remember, a little progress made faithfully is better than a beautiful plan that never becomes action.

💜 WEDNESDAY AUTHORS HUB — LET'S FINISH SEPTEMBER TOGETHER!

Today, I want to hear from everyone in our Authors Hub!

📚 PUBLISHED AUTHORS: Share your book links! Tell us one accomplishment from September and what you're looking forward to in October. Let's discover new books and support one another.

✍️ CURRENT WRITERS: What manuscript are you working on? Did you make progress this month? What's your goal for October?

💡 FUTURE AUTHORS: Have you been thinking about writing a book but haven't started? Tell us your idea! Maybe October can be the month you finally write that first page.

❤️ EVERYONE: Before leaving the comments, find another author and offer encouragement. Ask about their story, share a helpful publishing tip, or celebrate something they've accomplished.

I want this Authors Hub to be more than a place where we drop book links and leave.

I want us to become a community where writers genuinely help one another learn about writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and growing as authors.

There is room for experienced authors, beginners, and everyone in between.

We grow stronger when we encourage one another!

🌷 Today's Encouragement

TURN THE PAGE!

"Don't spend so much time regretting yesterday's unfinished chapter that you forget God has given you another opportunity to write today."

Leave the discouragement. Keep the lessons. Carry the gratitude. Welcome the possibilities.

Author, September is ending, but your story isn't.

There are still books to write.

Ideas to develop.

Skills to learn.

Dreams to pursue.

Readers to encourage.

And new opportunities to discover.

Maybe this month was wonderful.

Maybe it was difficult.

Maybe it was a little of both.

But tomorrow brings another opportunity to begin again.

So take a moment today to thank God for how far you've come.

Then turn the page with faith.

September was one chapter. October is another. Don't let what happened on yesterday's pages keep you from writing tomorrow's story. 💜📖✍️

Happy Wednesday, Authors, and farewell to September!
