Write, Rest, and Renew

đź“– Scripture (KJV)

Colossians 3:23

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

Psalm 90:17

“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

Isaiah 40:8

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

✍️ Devotional Thought

As authors, weekends can hold two powerful opportunities: progress and perspective.

During the week, we often push ourselves to meet goals — editing pages, writing chapters, organizing ideas. But the weekend invites us to slow down just enough to remember why we write in the first place.

If you are a Christian writer, your words carry more than creativity. They carry purpose.

Every testimony written…Every devotional shared…Every story filled with truth…

has the potential to reach someone exactly when they need it.

Sometimes the enemy tries to whisper discouragement to writers:

“Your words don’t matter.”“No one will read this.”“You’re not good enough.”

But God’s Word reminds us that what we do for Him has eternal value.

When you write with Him in mind, your work becomes ministry.

So this weekend, take a moment to do three things:

Write with purpose.Even if it’s just a few sentences or editing a single page, faithful progress matters.

Rest in His presence.Creative minds need quiet moments with God to stay refreshed and inspired.

Renew your vision.Remember the calling God placed in your heart when you first began writing.

Your words may travel farther than you will ever know.

Someone may read your book, devotional, or testimony months or years from now and find hope in the very pages you struggled to write.

That is the beauty of writing for the Kingdom.

🌿 Weekend Reflection

  • What message has God placed on my heart to write?

  • Am I writing to please people, or to honor God?

  • What small step can I take this weekend to move my writing forward?

🙏 Prayer

Father,Thank You for the gift of words and the calling to write. Establish the work of my hands and guide my thoughts as I create. Help me write with humility, purpose, and faith. Let my words reflect Your truth and bring encouragement to those who read them.In Jesus’ name, Amen.

đź’ś Weekend Author Reminder

Write faithfully.Rest in His presence.Trust that God will use your words.
