✍️ Author Devotional – December 16, 2025

Theme: Writing From a Place of WonderScripture:“And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.” — Luke 2:16 (KJV)

As Christmas approaches, it’s easy for the wonder of the season to be overshadowed by routine, repetition, or responsibility. But today, God invites you — as a writer — to return to wonder.

The shepherds came with haste, not obligation. They came with expectation, curiosity, and awe.

That same sense of wonder is meant to guide your writing. When you write from wonder, your words feel alive. They carry humility, reverence, and joy. Wonder reminds you that the story of Jesus never grows old — it only grows deeper.

As an author, you have the privilege of pointing others back to the miracle:God stepping into humanity.Light entering darkness.Hope lying in a manger.

Don’t rush past the wonder. Sit with it. Let it soften your heart and slow your pace. Write not to impress, but to invite — inviting readers to pause, to marvel, and to remember why this season matters so deeply.

Your words can help someone rediscover the awe of Christ — perhaps even yourself.

Reflection Prayer:

Lord, restore the wonder of Your coming in my heart. Help me write with awe, humility, and joy. Let my words reflect the miracle of Your love and draw others closer to You during this holy season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge:Write one paragraph today that captures wonder — the wonder of Christ’s birth, the wonder of God’s love, or the wonder of how He has worked in your life. Write slowly. Write reverently.
