✍️ Author Devotional – November 16, 2025

Theme: Writing From a Place of RestScripture:“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him.” — Psalm 37:7 (KJV)

As an author, you carry ideas, inspiration, deadlines, expectations, and sometimes even pressure — both from within and from the world around you. But God never called you to write from exhaustion or striving. He called you to write from rest.

Rest in God doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means working from a place of peace, trusting that He is guiding your thoughts, preparing your readers, and shaping every message you share. Writing from rest means you’re not forcing creativity — you’re receiving it.

Some days the words come quickly, like a river flowing with God’s wisdom. Other days they feel slow and quiet, like dew settling gently in the early morning. Both are holy. Both are from Him.

When you pause long enough to rest in the Lord, you’ll find clarity returning, inspiration rising, and your spirit refreshed. You are not just writing — you are partnering with the Prince of Peace. Let His calm settle your heart and steady your hand.

Your best writing will always come from a soul at rest in God, not a mind racing in anxiety.

Reflection Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being my place of rest. Calm my mind and settle my spirit so I can write from a heart anchored in You. Help me to trust Your timing, Your voice, and Your guidance as I create today. Let every word be birthed from Your peace and filled with Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge:Before you write, take a slow, deep breath and whisper, “Lord, I rest in You.”Then write peacefully — no pushing, no pressure — just rest and receive.
