✍️ Author Devotional – November 7, 2025

Theme: Obedience Over Outcome Scripture: “And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” — 1 Samuel 15:22 (KJV)

Every author who writes for God knows what it feels like to question the outcome — to wonder if the effort is worth it, if the message will reach anyone, or if the words truly matter. But God reminds us that obedience is far more precious than results.

When you write out of obedience, you are saying, “Yes, Lord,” even when you can’t see where it will lead. You are choosing faith over fear and surrender over striving. Obedience turns writing into worship — an offering of the heart that pleases the Lord more than any visible success ever could.

Samuel’s reminder to Saul still rings true for us today: God desires our obedience, not our performance. He’s not impressed by how polished our words are or how wide our audience is; He delights in a willing heart.

So even if no one claps, even if your words reach only one soul — or simply remain between you and God — remember that obedience is never wasted. Every act of faith is recorded in heaven and ripples into eternity.

Reflection Prayer:

Lord, thank You for reminding me that obedience is more important than outcome. Help me to write faithfully, not for recognition, but for Your glory. Let every word I write be a reflection of my love and surrender to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge: Write a short paragraph today from a place of obedience — something you feel God has been nudging you to write but you’ve been hesitant to begin. Trust that He’ll do the rest.
