Writing Through the Waiting Scripture:“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way.” — Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
Every author knows the ache of waiting — waiting for words to flow, for doors to open, or for hearts to receive the message God placed inside you. It’s in those quiet seasons that God does His deepest work.
Sometimes the waiting feels like silence, but in truth, it’s sacred preparation. God may be aligning readers you haven’t met yet, opportunities not yet ready, and lessons that will deepen your message when the time is right.
Just because you don’t see movement doesn’t mean God isn’t moving. He is working behind the scenes, refining your character, strengthening your faith, and sharpening your pen. The waiting season is not wasted — it’s holy ground.
When you surrender your writing to Him, you give Him permission to make your words more than ink on paper — you allow Him to breathe life into them. Trust His timing. Your words will reach the right hearts at the perfect moment, because the Author of time Himself is writing your story, too.
Reflection Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to rest in You as I wait. When impatience or doubt tries to take hold, remind me that Your timing is perfect. Use this season to refine me, to grow my faith, and to prepare my words for the people who need them most. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Challenge:Spend a few moments journaling about what God is teaching you during this season of waiting. Ask Him to show you how He’s using this time to shape your heart — and your writing.
