šļø PEACE ā RESTING IN THE ONE WHO HOLDS TOMORROW
Finding God's Peace in an Uncertain World
October Theme: The Fruit of the Spirit
š TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
John 14:27 (KJV)
āPeace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.ā
ā Good morning & Happy Friday, Bible Study Family!Ā š
God is so, so good!
This week, we've been studying the Fruit of the Spirit.
ā¤ļø LOVEĀ teaches us how to treat others.
š JOYĀ reminds us that our happiness doesn't have to depend on our circumstances.
And today, we come to something our hearts desperately need:
šļø PEACE.
Have you ever laid down at night, exhausted, but your mind just wouldn't stop?
Thinking about tomorrow?
Worrying about your family?
Wondering how the bills will get paid?
Replaying a conversation?
Trying to figure out something that is completely out of your control?
Friend, I believe we've all been there.
But Jesus gave us a beautiful promise:
āMy peace I give unto you.ā
Notice He didn't say:
I'll give you peace when everything works out.
I'll give you peace when everybody treats you right.
I'll give you peace when you have all the answers.
He simply said:
āMY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU.ā
šæ PEACE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF TROUBLE
Sometimes we think having peace means nothing is going wrong.
But biblical peace is much deeper.
It's knowing that even when life is uncertain, God is still in control.
You may not know what tomorrow holds.
But you can know the One who holds tomorrow.
You may not understand every situation.
But you can trust the Lord who sees what you cannot.
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) says:
āThou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.ā
What a beautiful promise!
Peace grows as we learn to keep our minds focused on God instead of allowing worry to control every thought.
That doesn't mean we never feel afraid.
It means we have Someone to turn to when fear comes.
š STOP CARRYING TOMORROW'S BURDENS TODAY
Jesus said in Matthew 6:34 (KJV):
āTake therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itselfā¦ā
How often do we borrow trouble from tomorrow?
We worry about things that haven't happened.
We imagine conversations that may never take place.
We try to solve problems that haven't even arrived.
And before we know it, we've allowed tomorrow's possibilities to steal today's peace.
Friend, God gives us grace for today.
We can make wise plans for tomorrow without allowing tomorrow to consume our hearts.
Sometimes we need to stop and pray:
āLord, I've done what I can. Now I'm trusting You with what I cannot control.ā
šļø PRAYER IS WHERE WE TAKE OUR WORRIES
Philippians 4:6ā7 reminds us to bring our concerns to God through prayer and thanksgiving.
And Scripture promises that God's peace can guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
That doesn't mean every problem disappears immediately.
But it does mean we don't have to carry every burden alone.
Sometimes the situation doesn't change right away.
But something begins to change inside us as we surrender it to God.
Remember, peace is a Fruit of the Spirit.
It grows as we remain connected to Jesus.
Just as a branch cannot produce fruit apart from the vine, we cannot manufacture lasting spiritual peace through our own strength.
We need Him every day.
š TODAY'S PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for another beautiful Friday and another opportunity to grow closer to You.
Lord, You know the things weighing on my heart.
You know my worries about tomorrow, my concerns for my family, and the situations I cannot control.
Forgive me for the times I allow worry to become bigger in my thoughts than my trust in You.
Help me surrender the things I cannot change.
Give me wisdom for the decisions I need to make and patience for the answers I'm still waiting on.
When fear comes, remind me of Your promises.
When my mind becomes overwhelmed, help me turn to You in prayer.
Let Your peace guard my heart and mind.
And Lord, help me become someone who brings peace into the lives of others instead of adding to their burdens.
In Jesus' precious name,
Amen.Ā š
š» TODAY'S PEACE CHALLENGE
Take a few quiet moments with God today.
Write down three things that are weighing on your heart.
Beside each one, ask yourself:
šæ Is there something I can responsibly do about this today?
š Is there something I need to surrender to God?
ā¤ļø Am I trusting Him, or am I trying to control the outcome?
Then pray:
āLord, I give You what I cannot control. Help me be faithful with what You have placed in my hands today.ā
And rememberāsometimes finding peace means turning off the noise, putting down the phone, opening our Bible, and spending a little quiet time with Jesus.
š¬ TODAY'S QUESTION
What Scripture helps you find peace when life becomes overwhelming?
Share it in the comments!
Someone in our Bible Study Family may need that very Scripture today. š
šļø TODAY'S REMINDER
Friend, you don't have to have everything figured out today.
You don't have to know every answer.
You don't have to carry the weight of the entire future.
You simply need to keep walking with the One who promises never to leave you.
Peace doesn't come from knowing everything will happen exactly as we want.
Peace comes from trusting God even when we don't know what will happen next.
So today, release that worry.
Take that concern to Jesus.
Do what you can.
Trust Him with the rest.
And remember:
šļø THE ONE WHO HOLDS TOMORROW IS HOLDING YOU TODAY.
Have a beautifully blessed Friday, Bible Study Family! šāļø
