âWhich hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.ââ Hebrews 6:19 (KJV)
When grief hits, it can feel like youâre adrift in an endless stormâwaves of sorrow knocking against the fragile places of your heart. The world grows quieter, and memories echo louder. Yet in those moments when you feel most unsteady, God reminds us that hope is not lost. Itâs anchored.
The anchor of our soul is Jesus Christâsteady, unmovable, and faithful even when everything else shifts beneath us. Your heart may ache and your tears may fall, but the Lord does not waver. He holds you when you cannot stand and carries you when the pain feels too heavy.
Hope in Christ doesnât erase our griefâit gives it purpose. Through Him, we know this separation is not forever. Through Him, love doesnât dieâit endures. One day, He will wipe away every tear, and we will see those weâve lost again, whole and radiant in His presence.
Until that day, we cling to the anchor. We live with the promise that sorrow may last for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
đ Prayer:
Heavenly Father,When my heart feels broken and I canât see beyond the pain, remind me of Your promises. Anchor my soul in Your hope, and steady my spirit when the storm of grief tries to pull me under. Help me to remember that You are near to the brokenhearted and that in You, my hope will never fail.In Jesusâ Name, Amen.
