šæ Daily Devotional ā November 1 šæ
āBut I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.āā1 Thessalonians 4:13ā14 (KJV)
Grief reminds us of how deeply weāve loved. Each memory, each tear, each moment of longing testifies to the precious time we were given with those we hold dear. Though the ache of missing them remains, today we give thanksāfor the love we shared, the laughter that still echoes in our hearts, and the promise that death is not the end for those in Christ Jesus.
Our time with our loved ones may have ended here on earth, but through Christ, their story continues in glory. The same Savior who conquered the grave now holds them in everlasting peace. And one day, He will wipe away every tear as we are reunited in His presence, whole and filled with joy beyond measure.
We grieveābut not without hope. Because of Jesus, separation is only temporary. His resurrection is the anchor that steadies our souls and assures us that eternal life awaits all who believe in Him.
So today, let our hearts be full of gratitude. Thank God for the moments shared, for the memories that remain, and for the glorious promise that love never diesāit simply moves from this world into eternity.
Reflection for Today:Take a moment to thank God for your loved oneāfor their life, their love, and the assurance that you will see them again through Christ.
Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious time I had with those I love. Though I miss them deeply, I am grateful for the promise of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus. Help me to live each day with gratitude and hope, trusting that one day, we will be together again in Your presence. Amen.
