āFor here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.āāHebrews 13:14 (KJV)
When we lose someone we love, it can make this world feel less like home. The familiar places donāt feel the same, and our hearts long for the warmth of their presence. But as believers, that longing points us toward something far greaterāour true and eternal home with Christ.
Heaven isnāt just a faraway promise; itās the reality our hearts were made for. Itās where tears are wiped away, pain no longer exists, and love is made whole again. Our loved ones who knew Jesus have simply gone ahead of usātheyāre home now, resting in the perfect peace of His presence.
Here on earth, weāre still on the journey. We walk through seasons of sorrow, but we walk with hope, knowing that this life is not the end. Every day brings us one step closer to that glorious reunion, one heartbeat closer to seeing Jesus face-to-face.
Home is not a place we build hereāitās the place He has prepared for us there. And until that day comes, we hold on to faith, cherish the memories, and let our hope anchor us through the ache of missing them.
Reflection for Today: When you think of your loved one today, picture them whole and happy in their heavenly home, surrounded by the love of Jesusāand remember, one day, youāll be home too.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the promise of our eternal home. When I miss my loved one, remind me that they are safe with You, where joy never ends. Help me to live each day with hope, knowing that one day I will join them in Your presence forever. Amen.
