š„©š Harvest Country Salisbury Steak with Apple-Onion Gravy & Brown Butter Mashed PotatoesĀ š„š§
Good morning, folks! š¤ š
It's Monday, and we're starting the week with some old-fashioned country comfort food with a little fall twist!
Today's Harvest Country Salisbury SteakĀ features tender seasoned beef patties smothered in a rich brown gravy filled with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and just a touch of apple. We're serving it over creamy brown-butter mashed potatoesĀ that might just become your new favorite way to make mashed potatoes! ā¤ļø
Don't worryāthe apples don't make the gravy sweet. They add just a little harvest flavor that pairs beautifully with the beef and onions.

Stir in the garlic.
4ļøā£ Make that country gravy.Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture and cook for about 1 minute.
Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring.

š„ Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
3 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
6 tablespoons butter
½ā¾ cup warm heavy cream or milk
¼ cup sour cream
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper
Fresh parsley or chives
š§ Make That Brown Butter!
Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15ā20 minutes.
While they're cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Continue cooking until the butter begins to foam and develops little golden-brown flecks with a nutty aroma. Remove it from the heat immediately so it doesn't burn.
Drain the potatoes well and mash them with the brown butter, sour cream, garlic powder, and enough warm cream to make them fluffy.
Season with salt and pepper.
Now pile those potatoes onto your plate and spoon the Salisbury steak and that apple-onion mushroom gravy right over the top!Ā š

š§ Brown that butter!
It only takes a few extra minutes, but brown butter gives ordinary mashed potatoes a wonderful toasted, almost nutty flavor.
And when making Salisbury steak, don't pack those patties too tightly.Ā Gently shaping them helps keep them tender.

We don't have to know everything this week will bring because God is already there.
