Day 2 of our New Orleans adventure has been a reminder that sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest memories — beautiful skies, kind people, roadside treasures, and God’s provision showing up in unexpected ways.
We hit the road early, cruising through Alabama and Mississippi, soaking in some of the most beautiful scenery. The skies were incredible today — fluffy clouds and wide-open views as far as the eye could see. I couldn’t help but take more pictures… I’ll never get tired of finding little shapes and animals in the clouds. It’s like God gives us artwork along the way.
Thrift Store Heaven in Alabama
If you know me, you know I can’t pass up a good thrift store — and today, Tim surprised me by pulling into one of the biggest thrift shops I’ve ever seen in Alabama. I was in heaven!
We found some awesome treasures and, even better, the people were so sweet and welcoming. There’s just something about small-town thrift stores — it’s not just about what you find, it’s about the smiles, the conversations, and feeling right at home.
Collecting Memories — One Shot Glass at a Time
As we continued our journey through Mississippi, Tim made sure to stop at a few little shops so I could hunt for one of my favorite keepsakes — shot glasses. I don’t use them for drinks, but I collect them everywhere we travel. They line the shelves of the Pepsi crates in our kitchen, each one a little reminder of where we’ve been and the memories we’ve made.
A Little Luck at the Pump
While filling up in Mississippi, I decided to buy a couple of lottery tickets — just for fun. And wouldn’t you know it, I won $25 and Tim won $10! It covered our gas for the day — talk about a blessing in disguise.
Looking Ahead
Today was a good day — simple, peaceful, and full of little surprises. Tomorrow, we’ll make our final stretch into New Orleans, and I can’t wait to share what we discover once we roll into town.
Stay tuned — the adventure continues!
