🌷 THERE IS ALWAYS A SEAT AT THE MASTER'S TABLE ❤️
Have you ever been surrounded by people, yet felt completely alone? Have you ever been in a room full of people and wondered if anyone even noticed you were there?
Today, I want to share something personal. Not to make anyone feel bad, not to point fingers, and certainly not to seek sympathy, but because I believe someone needs to hear this message.
Recently, I attended a dinner that left me with a deeply hurting heart.
As I looked around the room, I realized that literally everyone had a seat except me.
I was the only one left standing.
Now, some may think, "It's just a chair. What's the big deal?"
But you see, sometimes it's not about the chair. It's about the feeling of not belonging.
As I stood there, something happened inside my heart. Suddenly, I wasn't the grown woman I am today. I was that shy, backward little girl in school again. The one who struggled to fit in, who felt like an outcast, who wasn't part of the crowd, and who often wondered why she wasn't included like everyone else.
All those feelings I thought I had left behind came rushing back.
And friends, I will tell you, it hurt. It hurt deeply.
For a moment, I wanted to turn around and walk right out that door.
One sweet lady noticed and offered me her seat. What a beautiful act of kindness! But there was no way I could take her seat and allow her to feel the very rejection I was experiencing.
I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone.
As I stood there, I began talking to the Lord in my heart.
"Lord, are You trying to show me something? Is this a place where my season of serving You is coming to an end? Are You preparing me for something different? Or is there something in my own heart that You are trying to heal?"
I don't have all those answers yet. That is something I will continue to pray about, because I never want to move ahead of God or allow my hurt feelings to make decisions that should be made through prayer and His guidance.
But as I reflected on that evening, one beautiful thought came to my heart.
❤️ THERE IS ALWAYS A SEAT AT THE MASTER'S TABLE! ❤️
Oh, friends, think about that for just a moment!
I may have been the only one without a seat at that dinner, but praise God, I will never have to stand wondering whether there is room for me at the Master's table!
People may overlook us.
People may forget to include us.
People may unintentionally hurt us without ever realizing the pain their actions have caused.
And sometimes, yes, people may deliberately leave us out.
But let me tell you something.
GOD HAS NEVER FORGOTTEN YOU!
He sees the little girl who felt unwanted.
He sees the little boy who was always picked last.
He sees the teenager who ate lunch alone.
He sees the woman who walks into a room and wonders whether she belongs.
He sees the man who feels unappreciated and forgotten.
He sees the tears we fight so hard to hold back and hears the prayers we never speak aloud.
And He loves us through every bit of it!
📖 Psalm 34:18 (KJV)"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."
📖 Isaiah 43:4 (KJV)"Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee..."
📖 Psalm 27:10 (KJV)"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up."
And I love what Jesus teaches us in Luke chapter 14 about the great supper.
📖 Luke 14:23 (KJV)"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."
What a beautiful picture of an invitation that reaches beyond the expected guests!
You see, at the Master's table, we don't have to be popular, wealthy, beautiful, important, or part of the right crowd.
We don't have to wear the finest clothes, have the perfect appearance, or know all the right people.
We don't have to fight for a place at His table. Jesus invites us to come to Him!
📖 John 6:37 (KJV)"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
Oh, what a promise!
The world may reject us, but Jesus will not cast away those who come to Him.
And friends, that is something worth shouting about!
❤️ YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!
❤️ YOU ARE NOT WORTHLESS!
❤️ YOU ARE NOT INVISIBLE TO GOD!
❤️ YOU ARE LOVED BEYOND MEASURE!
Now, there is something else the Lord has placed upon my heart through this experience.
How often do we overlook the person standing alone?
How often are we so busy talking with our friends, enjoying our fellowship, or sitting with those we know that we fail to notice someone who feels left out?
Maybe it's someone new at church.
Maybe it's a widow attending her first gathering alone.
Maybe it's a shy child who desperately wants someone to be their friend.
Maybe it's someone who has experienced rejection their entire life and is silently praying that this time will be different.
We never know what someone is carrying in their heart.
We never know what childhood wounds may still be tender.
And sometimes, what seems like such a small thing to us can reopen a lifetime of hurt for someone else.
A simple invitation, a kind word, a smile, or pulling out a chair can mean more than we will ever know.
I don't want this experience to make me bitter. I want it to make me better.
I want it to remind me to look around the room.
To notice the person standing alone.
To welcome the one who seems uncomfortable.
To reach out to the one who feels forgotten.
To make sure that if I have anything to do with it, no one has to wonder whether they belong.
Because isn't that what the love of Jesus should look like?
📖 John 13:34 (KJV)"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
Maybe God wasn't showing me that I didn't belong. Maybe He was reminding me just how important it is to help others feel that they do.
And maybe He was also reminding me that there are still places in my own heart that need His gentle healing.
I am still praying about what this experience means for my journey and where God wants me to serve Him.
But one thing I know for certain:
My worth is not determined by whether someone saves me a seat at their table. My worth comes from the One who created me, redeemed me, and calls me His own!
🙏 MY PRAYER TODAY
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me even in those moments when I feel overlooked, forgotten, or unwanted.
Lord, You know the hurts we carry, even the ones from so many years ago. You know the little girl inside me who sometimes still remembers what it felt like to be left out.
Father, I ask You to heal those tender places in my heart.
Help me never to allow the actions of others to determine my worth.
If You are preparing me for a new season, give me wisdom, patience, and understanding to recognize Your direction. Help me never to make decisions out of hurt, but always through prayer and obedience to You.
And Lord, please help me to never make another person feel the way I felt that evening.
Give me eyes to see the lonely, a heart to love the hurting, and the courage to reach out to those who feel forgotten.
Help me to be the person who pulls out another chair, extends a hand, and reminds someone that they matter.
Above all, Lord, thank You that through Jesus Christ, there is an invitation to come to You, and that You will never turn away those who truly seek You.
In Jesus' precious name, Amen. ❤️
🌷 ONE LAST THOUGHT, FRIENDS...
If you have ever been the one standing alone, the one not invited, the one overlooked, or the one wondering why you weren't good enough to be included, please hear my heart today.
You ARE good enough to be loved. You ARE important. You DO matter.
Don't allow one painful moment to convince you that you have no purpose or place in this world.
And the next time you see someone standing alone, remember that sometimes the greatest ministry we can offer is simply making room for one more.
Because while the world may not always save us a seat, there is ALWAYS a seat at the Master's table for those who come to Him!
And at His table, you are never an unwanted guest. ❤️
God bless you all, and may we always remember to love one another as Christ has loved us.
