☕ Thursday Food for Thought: FIND YOUR COURAGE IN JESUS! ❤️

Good Thursday morning, family and friends!

As I sit here this morning with my coffee and God's Word, I've been thinking about something that I believe we all need to remember.

COURAGE DOESN'T MEAN WE NEVER GET AFRAID. IT MEANS WE TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN WE ARE!

Y'all, we love reading about the great men and women of faith in the Bible.

David faced Goliath.

Daniel stood firm in his faith.

Esther found the courage to speak up.

Paul continued preaching the Gospel despite persecution and hardship.

But here's something that really speaks to my heart.

THESE WERE ORDINARY PEOPLE SERVING AN EXTRAORDINARY GOD!

They faced fear, uncertainty, opposition, and circumstances that seemed impossible.

Yet they chose to trust the Lord.

The Bible says:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Y'all, I've lived long enough to know that life isn't always easy.

There have been times when I've faced situations I never dreamed I would have to face.

Times when my heart was broken.

Times when I didn't know what tomorrow would bring.

And times when I wondered how I would find the strength to keep going.

But through it all, I've learned something.

MY STRENGTH DOESN'T COME FROM WHO I AM. IT COMES FROM WHO JESUS IS! ❤️

The world can give us a thousand reasons to be afraid.

Turn on the news, scroll through social media, or listen to everything happening around us, and it's easy to become overwhelmed.

But y'all, I refuse to let fear have the final word in my life!

MY GOD IS GREATER THAN ANYTHING THIS WORLD CAN THROW AT ME!

Paul reminded the church at Philippi:

“And in nothing terrified by your adversaries...” — Philippians 1:28 KJV

He was encouraging believers to stand firm in their faith, even when they faced opposition.

And that's something we need today!

Now, don't misunderstand me.

Having faith doesn't mean we won't experience grief, disappointment, sickness, or difficult circumstances.

And it certainly doesn't mean we have to pretend everything is okay when it isn't.

FAITH MEANS WE KNOW WHO TO TURN TO WHEN LIFE ISN'T OKAY!

Jesus never promised us a life without trouble.

But He did promise us His presence.

And I've learned that sometimes the greatest testimony isn't that God kept us from the storm.

IT'S THAT HE CARRIED US THROUGH IT!

The Bible says:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13 KJV

Notice it doesn't say some things.

ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST!

Not because we're strong enough on our own, but because He gives us the strength to face what lies ahead.

And I'm preaching to Sarah this morning too! ❤️

I don't want to spend my days worrying about what might happen tomorrow.

I want to spend them trusting the One who already knows tomorrow!

I want to be bold in my faith, loving toward others, and willing to stand on God's Word even when the world disagrees.

Not with arrogance.

Not with anger.

BUT WITH COURAGE, COMPASSION, AND CONFIDENCE IN JESUS CHRIST!

🙏 Heavenly Father, thank You for being my strength when I feel weak and my peace when life becomes overwhelming. Forgive me for the times I've allowed fear to overshadow my faith. Give me courage to stand firm in Your Word, wisdom to face difficult situations, and compassion for those who are hurting. Help me remember that I never have to face life's battles alone. Let my life be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen. ❤️
