🎨 CRAFT OF THE DAY

🍁 Thrifted Flannel & Fall Leaves → Beautiful Autumn Leaf Art!

Happy Tuesday, crafting friends! 💜

Today we're doing something a little DIFFERENT!

Instead of painting furniture or making another centerpiece, we're heading outdoors to gather some of God's beautiful autumn colors and combining them with a thrifted flannel shirt to create a gorgeous piece of rustic autumn wall art!

Have you noticed how beautiful the leaves are becoming?

The reds, oranges, golds, and browns remind us that even as the seasons change, there is beauty all around us.

And here's the best part about today's craft...

You can make it for just a few dollars, and every finished piece will be completely unique! 😍

🛒 WHAT YOU'LL NEED

🍁 Colorful fallen autumn leaves👔 Old plaid flannel shirt🖼️ Thrifted picture frame (8x10 or larger)📄 Heavy cardstock or watercolor paper✂️ Scissors🖌️ Small paintbrush🧴 Matte decoupage glue🪵 Small wooden letters (optional)🧶 Jute twine🎀 Burlap or lace ribbon (optional)📚 Heavy books for pressing leaves🧼 Cleaning cloth

MONEY-SAVING TIP: Check your closets for an old flannel shirt, then look for a frame at a thrift store or yard sale. Your beautiful leaves are FREE!

🔨 STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS

1️⃣ TAKE A LITTLE AUTUMN WALK!

Head outside and gather some beautiful fallen leaves.

Look for different shapes and colors:

🍁 Deep Red🍂 Golden Yellow🍁 Burnt Orange🤎 Warm Brown🌿 Muted Green

Choose leaves that are clean, dry, and free from mold.

2️⃣ PRESS YOUR LEAVES

Place your leaves between sheets of absorbent paper inside a heavy book.

Leave them until completely dry and flat, usually about one to two weeks.

Want to make the craft today? Use leaves you've already pressed or inexpensive artificial fall leaves instead!

3️⃣ PREPARE YOUR THRIFTED FRAME

Remove the backing and glass.

Clean the frame thoroughly.

Leave the finish natural or paint it antique white, sage green, or warm brown.

Set the glass aside safely.

4️⃣ ADD YOUR FLANNEL BACKGROUND

Cut a piece of plaid flannel slightly larger than your cardstock backing.

Wrap the fabric around the backing and secure it neatly on the back.

Try a beautiful combination of:

🤎 Brown and cream plaid

🍂 Rust and beige

🌿 Sage and ivory

❤️ Burgundy and tan

This creates a cozy autumn background!

5️⃣ CREATE YOUR LEAF DESIGN!

Arrange your pressed leaves on a separate piece of cardstock that contrasts with your flannel.

Try creating:

🍁 A large heart

🌳 A beautiful tree

🍂 A flowing leaf arrangement

🕊️ A simple nature-inspired design

❤️ Your family's initial

Once you're happy with the arrangement, carefully attach the dried leaves using a thin layer of matte decoupage glue.

Allow everything to dry thoroughly.

6️⃣ FRAME YOUR MASTERPIECE!

Mount your finished leaf artwork over the flannel-covered background.

Add a little wooden word or handwritten message if desired.

Some beautiful ideas:

🍂 Autumn Blessings

🌻 Gather & Give Thanks

💜 Beauty in Every Season

🙏 Thankful Hearts

🏡 Bless This Home

Reassemble your frame, keeping fragile leaves protected behind glass or acrylic if possible.

And just like that...

YOU'VE TURNED FALLEN LEAVES, AN OLD SHIRT, AND A THRIFTED FRAME INTO BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN ART!

💡 BONUS IDEA — MAKE IT PERSONAL!

Here's something extra special!

Have each family member collect a favorite autumn leaf.

Create one framed picture using everyone's leaves.

Write the year and each person's name on the back.

What a beautiful keepsake to bring out every fall!

You could even create one each year and watch your collection grow.

💜 TODAY'S INSPIRATION

There Is Beauty in Every Season

You know, as I think about today's craft, I'm reminded of how much our lives resemble the changing seasons.

In spring, everything begins to grow.

Summer brings warmth and sunshine.

Fall brings beautiful changes.

And winter reminds us that sometimes we need a season of rest.

But here's what I love...

God is present through EVERY season.

Sometimes we resist change because we're afraid of what comes next.

We hold tightly to the familiar, even when God may be preparing us for something different.

But look at the autumn leaves.

They don't stay green forever.

Their colors change, and eventually they fall.

Yet that doesn't mean their beauty was wasted.

Even fallen leaves can become part of something beautiful.

And so can the experiences we've walked through.

The difficult seasons.

The unexpected changes.

The lessons we've learned.

God can use them all.

So if you're facing a season of change today, remember:

Your season may be changing, but God's faithfulness never does. 💜

📖 TODAY'S SCRIPTURE (KJV)

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"

Ecclesiastes 3:1

🍁 QUESTION OF THE DAY!

If you were creating a picture using beautiful autumn leaves, what design would YOU choose?

❤️ A heart

🌳 A tree

🍁 A leaf collage

🔠 Your family initial

🏡 A cottage scene

💜 Something completely different!

Tell us in the comments!

📸 TUESDAY SHOW & TELL!

Let's have a little fun today!

I want to see the beautiful fall colors where YOU live!

🍁 Take a picture of your favorite autumn tree.

🍂 Share your latest thrift-store treasure.

🎨 Show us a craft you're working on.

🖼️ Post a before-and-after transformation.

And if you have something sitting around your house that you're not sure how to repurpose, share a picture and ask:

“WHAT WOULD YOU CREATE WITH THIS?”

Let's inspire one another and discover beauty in the simple things!

Have a wonderful Tuesday, crafting friends!

May your day be filled with blessings, creativity, and little reminders of God's beautiful handiwork. 🍂🌻💜

THRIFT IT. ♻️ REPURPOSE IT. 🎨 CRAFT IT. ❤️ LOVE IT.
