🎨🌿 Thrifted Treasures & DIY Creations✨ Sunday, August 23, 2026💜 Sunday Craft of the Day

đź’ś Sunday Craft of the Day

🙏 Thrifted Frame → Family Prayer & Blessing Board

Happy Sunday, crafting friends! đź’ś

For today's craft, I wanted to create something that's not only beautiful and inexpensive, but something that can become meaningful to your family for years to come.

We're taking an old thrifted picture frame and turning it into a Family Prayer & Blessing Board—a special place where your family can write down prayer requests, answered prayers, blessings, Scriptures, and words of encouragement. 🙏

And just like so many of our projects, we're going to see how much we can create using things we already have or can find secondhand!

🛍️ Let's Hunt for Our Supplies!

Look around your house first, then check thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales for:

🖼️ An old picture frame🧵 Twine or thin ribbon📌 Mini clothespins📜 Scrapbook paper or old stationery🌿 Faux greenery🌸 Small flowers or lavender🎀 Lace or ribbon🏷️ Small wooden tag or scrap wood✂️ Scissors🖌️ Paint, if desired

Don't worry if the frame is scratched or the artwork inside is outdated. We're interested in the FRAME!

🎨 Step 1 — Give Your Frame New Life

Remove the glass and artwork.

Clean your frame and decide whether to keep its original finish or give it a cozy cottage makeover.

Try:

🤍 Antique White🌿 Sage Green💜 Soft Lavender🩵 Cottage Blue🤎 Natural Distressed Wood

Lightly sand the edges after painting if you want that beautiful, well-loved cottage appearance.

🧵 Step 2 — Add Your Prayer Lines

Stretch several pieces of twine across the back of the frame and secure them firmly.

These will hold your prayer and blessing cards.

Add little clothespins so notes can easily be added, removed, or changed.

🌸 Step 3 — Make It Beautiful

Decorate your frame with things you already have:

🌿 Greenery🪻 Lavender🌸 Dried flowers🎀 Lace🤎 Burlap💜 Ribbon

You don't need much. Sometimes just a tiny bunch of lavender and a simple bow are enough.

🏷️ Step 4 — Give Your Board a Name

Add a little sign across the top or bottom saying:

🙏 Pray Without Ceasing

đź’ś Our Family Prays

🌻 Count Your Blessings

❤️ God Is Faithful

🏡 As For Me and My House

✨ Prayer Changes Things

📝 Step 5 — Start Filling It!

Now comes the most important part.

Create little cards for:

🙏 Prayer Requests💜 Answered Prayers🌻 Things We're Thankful For📖 Scripture of the Week❤️ Someone Who Needs Encouragement

Imagine looking at this board a year from now and seeing prayers that once felt impossible marked:

❤️ ANSWERED!

Don't throw those answered-prayer cards away. Place them in a jar or keepsake box and read them together at the end of the year.

What a beautiful reminder of God's faithfulness!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Make It a Sunday Family Tradition

Before everyone heads into another busy week, gather around your prayer board.

Let each family member add:

🙏 One prayer request🌻 One thing they're thankful for❤️ One person they want to pray for

Then take a few minutes and pray together.

The craft may cost only a few dollars, but the tradition you create could become priceless.

♻️ Repurposing Bonus!

No picture frame?

Try using:

🪟 An old window frame🪵 A cabinet door🍪 An old baking sheet🖼️ A corkboard🚪 A small cabinet door🪜 A piece of reclaimed wood

Remember—look at what something could become, not only what it used to be.

đź’ś Sunday Inspiration

Our homes don't have to be perfect to be filled with God's presence.

Sometimes faith is built in the simplest moments—around a kitchen table, during a quiet prayer, through a Scripture taped to the refrigerator, or when a child watches Momma or Daddy stop and pray for someone in need.

Let's make our homes places where prayer isn't reserved only for Sunday.

Let's make prayer part of everyday life. 🙏

"Pray without ceasing."— 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)

🌻 QUESTION OF THE DAY

If you made a Prayer & Blessing Board today, what section would you include?

🙏 Prayer Requests❤️ Answered Prayers🌻 Gratitude📖 Scripture of the Week💌 Encouragement💜 ALL OF THEM!

📸 And don't forget to share!

We'd love to see your finished prayer boards, Sunday crafts, thrift-store treasures, and repurposed creations. Your idea might be exactly what inspires another family to start a beautiful new tradition.

Happy Sunday, friends! 💜 May your home be filled with prayer, your heart with gratitude, and your week ahead with reminders of God's faithfulness. 🙏🌿🌸
