Weekend Hope Devotionals for January 17th and 18th

🌿 January 17 Grief Support Devotional: ā€œIt’s Okay If Today Is Hardā€

Scripture:

ā€œCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.ā€ā€” Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Some days are harder than others, and you don’t always know why. You may wake up tired, heavy, or overwhelmed before the day even begins. Grief does that—it lingers, resurfaces, and settles in without warning.

And God says gently today:It’s okay if today is hard.

You are not failing because today hurts. You are not weak because you need rest. You are not behind because healing feels slow.

Jesus invites the weary to come—not to explain, not to perform, not to pretend—but simply to rest. He understands the weight you carry and offers a place of refuge for your heart.

Today, release the pressure to push through.Let rest be holy.Let coming to God be enough.

šŸ’› Prayer:

Lord,Today feels heavy, and I need Your rest. Thank You for welcoming me just as I am. Hold me when I feel weary and give my heart the peace it needs to make it through this day.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

🌿 January 18 Grief Support Devotional: ā€œGod Has Not Forgotten Youā€

Scripture:

ā€œCan a woman forget her sucking child… yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.ā€ā€” Isaiah 49:15 (KJV)

Grief can whisper lies—that you’ve been overlooked, that your pain is unseen, that God has moved on while you remain behind.

But God speaks clearly today:He has not forgotten you.

Not your tears. Not your prayers. Not your longing. Not your love.

Even when days blur together and grief feels isolating, God remembers you with tenderness. His care is constant, His love unshaken, and His presence faithful.

You are not invisible to Him.You are not distant from Him.You are deeply remembered and deeply loved.

šŸ’› Prayer:

Lord,When grief makes me feel forgotten, remind me of Your unfailing love. Thank You for seeing me, remembering me, and holding me close through every season of sorrow. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
