New Week, New Opportunities
đź“– Scripture (KJV)
Lamentations 3:22–23
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Ecclesiastes 11:4
“He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.”
✍️ Devotional Thought
A new week brings new opportunities.
Sometimes authors feel pressure to make every week perfect.Every chapter perfect.Every page flawless.
But writing doesn’t grow through perfection — it grows through faithfulness.
Lamentations reminds us that God’s mercies are new every morning. That means yesterday’s distractions, delays, or doubts do not define today.
This week is a fresh start.
Maybe last week you wrote every day.Maybe you didn’t write at all.
Either way, today is another opportunity to move forward.
Ecclesiastes gives a powerful reminder to writers: if we wait for perfect conditions, we may never begin.
If we wait until we feel inspired…Until life is less busy…Until we feel confident enough…
The page will remain blank.
But the authors who finish books are the ones who write even when conditions aren’t perfect.
This week, focus on progress.
Write a paragraph.Edit a page.Outline the next chapter.
Small faithful steps turn ideas into books.
And remember — your words may reach someone at the exact moment they need encouragement, truth, or hope.
God can use even the smallest sentence written in faith.
🌿 Reflection
What opportunity is God giving me this week to move forward in my writing?
Am I waiting for perfect conditions instead of taking action?
What is one specific writing goal I can accomplish this week?
🙏 Prayer
Father,Thank You for the gift of a new week and new opportunities. Help me write faithfully and steward the calling You have placed on my heart. Give me discipline when distractions arise and confidence to keep moving forward. Use my words to encourage and bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
