Begin Again With Joy
Scripture:
Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
"...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
"...for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Philippians 4:4 (KJV)
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice."
A new week has arrived.
Another opportunity.
Another chance to put your thoughts onto paper and continue the journey God has set before you.
But somewhere along the way, many writers lose something precious.
They lose their joy.
What began as excitement becomes pressure.
What started as a calling begins to feel like an obligation.
The deadlines, the editing, the marketing, and the endless comparisons slowly rob us of the joy that first inspired us to write.
But God never intended for your calling to become a burden.
He intended it to be a blessing.
He gave you the gift of creativity not only to serve others, but to bring joy to your own heart as well.
Nehemiah reminds us that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Not recognition.
Not book sales.
Not followers.
Not reviews.
True strength comes from Him.
Perhaps you've become discouraged because the journey is taking longer than expected.
Perhaps you've forgotten why you started.
Or perhaps you've allowed pressure to replace passion.
Today, God invites you to begin again.
Not with fear.
Not with guilt.
But with joy.
Write because you love the Lord.
Write because He has given you something to say.
Write because your story matters.
Write because you have the privilege of using your gifts for His glory.
And most of all, enjoy the journey.
Because one day you'll realize that some of the greatest blessings were found not in reaching the destination, but in walking with God through every chapter along the way.
So smile.
Take a deep breath.
Open the notebook.
Sit down at the keyboard.
And remember why you started.
The Author of your story is still writing beautiful things.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of creativity and the joy that comes from serving You. Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear, pressure, or comparison to steal my joy. Renew my spirit and remind me why You called me to write. Help me to enjoy the journey and trust You with every page. May my words always bring glory to You and encouragement to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
