💜 Your Story Is Worth Finishing — Don't Give Up in the Middle!

Today's Scripture (KJV)

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." — Galatians 6:9

Good Monday morning, authors, writers, and future authors! ☕📖

It's a brand-new week, and I want to encourage someone who may be sitting in front of an unfinished manuscript wondering whether they should keep going.

Maybe you started your book with excitement. The ideas were flowing, the characters were coming alive, and you could already picture yourself holding that finished book.

But somewhere along the way, things got difficult.

Life happened.

You got busy.

The words stopped flowing.

You started questioning whether your story was worth telling.

Maybe someone discouraged you, or perhaps you became your own worst critic.

Now that beautiful idea God placed on your heart is sitting in a notebook or saved on your computer, waiting for you to return.

Friend, don't give up in the middle of your story!

🌿 Every Beautiful Book Has a Middle

We love beginnings.

We love the excitement of a new idea, the first chapter, and imagining what the finished book will look like.

We also love endings.

The final chapter.

The words "The End."

The excitement of publishing.

But what about everything in between?

The middle is where the work happens.

It's where we learn patience, discipline, perseverance, and sometimes a whole lot about ourselves.

Our Christian walk is much the same.

We get excited when God places something on our hearts, but when the journey becomes difficult, we sometimes begin wondering whether we heard Him correctly.

Yet Galatians 6:9 reminds us not to become weary in well doing.

The fact that something is taking longer than you expected doesn't mean it isn't worth finishing.

💜 God Can Use Your Unfinished Season

Maybe your manuscript isn't the only thing God is working on.

Perhaps He's teaching you patience.

Maybe He's helping you develop confidence.

Maybe He's showing you how to receive correction without allowing discouragement to defeat you.

Perhaps He's teaching you to trust Him instead of depending on everyone else's approval.

And sometimes, while we're trying to finish the book, God is still working on the author.

I love that thought!

We may be focused on getting to the final chapter, but God sees the entire journey.

He knows what we need to learn along the way.

Don't become so focused on the finished product that you miss what God is teaching you during the process.

✍️ Don't Let Yesterday's Unwritten Pages Steal Today's Opportunity

Maybe you haven't written in a week.

Maybe it's been a month.

Maybe you started your book years ago.

So what?

You cannot change the pages you didn't write yesterday.

But you can open that manuscript today.

You can write another paragraph.

You can finish another chapter.

You can research something you don't understand.

You can ask another author for help.

You can pray and begin again.

You don't have to finish the whole book today. You simply have to be willing to continue.

And if God is leading you in a different direction, seek His wisdom and make the necessary changes.

Your writing journey doesn't have to look exactly like you originally imagined for it to have purpose.

📖 Remember Why You Started

Before you give up, ask yourself:

Why did I want to write this book?

Was it to preserve a family story?

Share a testimony?

Encourage someone walking through grief?

Teach children something important?

Create a mystery that readers would enjoy?

Share the lessons God has taught me?

Or simply bring a little laughter and joy into someone's day?

Sometimes we need to return to the reason we started.

Not every book will become a bestseller.

Not every author will have thousands of followers.

But every author has the opportunity to create something meaningful.

And sometimes one person reading your words and finding encouragement is worth more than you could ever imagine.

🙏 Monday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this beautiful new week and another opportunity to use the gifts You have given us.

Today, I pray especially for the authors who are feeling discouraged.

For the writer who has stopped writing.

For the person who has an idea but is afraid to begin.

For the author who has worked so hard and is wondering whether anyone will ever read their book.

Lord, strengthen them.

Remind us that we don't have to know everything to take the next step.

Help us become faithful with the opportunities You place before us.

Give us creativity when the words aren't flowing, patience when the process takes longer than expected, and wisdom when we need direction.

Protect us from comparison and discouragement.

Help us encourage one another instead of competing with one another.

And above all, may our words reflect Your love, truth, and goodness.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

Author, your story isn't finished.

Your journey isn't over.

And the dream God placed within your heart doesn't have to remain an unfinished manuscript.

Open the notebook.

Pick up the pen.

Say a prayer.

Write the next sentence.

And remember:

You don't have to write the whole book today. Just don't give up on the story because the middle got hard. 💜📖✍️
