Faithfulness in the Little Things
Scripture:
Luke 16:10 (KJV)
"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."
Zechariah 4:10 (KJV)
"For who hath despised the day of small things?"
Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
As writers, we often dream about the big moments.
Holding the finished book in our hands.
Receiving encouraging reviews.
Seeing lives touched through our words.
Watching dreams become reality.
But before those moments come, there are countless little moments that nobody sees.
The early mornings.
The late nights.
The rough drafts.
The edits.
The pages that get rewritten.
The prayers whispered over a manuscript.
And sometimes those little things can seem insignificant.
We wonder if our efforts really matter.
We wonder if anyone will ever notice.
We wonder if we're making enough progress.
Yet Jesus reminds us that faithfulness in little things prepares us for greater things.
God is not asking you to write an entire book today.
He is asking you to be faithful today.
Write the paragraph.
Jot down the idea.
Spend fifteen minutes with your manuscript.
Pray over the story He has placed on your heart.
Little things matter.
Zechariah reminds us not to despise small beginnings.
Great books are written one sentence at a time.
Great ministries are built one act of obedience at a time.
Great testimonies are formed one day at a time.
And Colossians reminds us that our work is ultimately for the Lord.
Not for applause.
Not for recognition.
But for Him.
So don't overlook today's small accomplishments.
Celebrate them.
Because God sees every act of faithfulness.
He sees the effort.
He sees the perseverance.
And He is working through every little thing.
The Author of your story specializes in taking small seeds and producing great harvests.
Daily Reflection
đź’ś Am I overlooking the importance of small steps?
đź’ś Have I become discouraged because progress seems slow?
đź’ś What little thing can I faithfully do today?
đź’ś Am I serving God or seeking the approval of others?
đź’ś How can I trust Him more with the process?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for reminding me that no act of faithfulness is ever wasted. Help me not to become discouraged by slow progress or small beginnings. Teach me to value the little things and to trust You with the harvest. Give me the discipline to continue and the faith to believe that You are working even when I cannot see it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
