A Fresh Week and a Fresh Opportunity

Scripture:

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)

"...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 90:17 (KJV)

"And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it."

A new week has arrived.

Another opportunity.

Another fresh start.

And another chance to take the thoughts that God has placed within your heart and turn them into words that can bless others.

Perhaps last week was productive.

Perhaps it wasn't.

Maybe you accomplished everything you hoped to.

Or maybe life interrupted your plans.

But one thing remains true:

God's mercies are new every morning.

That means you don't have to carry last week's disappointments into this week.

You don't have to dwell on what you didn't accomplish.

And you certainly don't have to believe the lie that you've fallen too far behind.

God isn't asking you to catch up.

He's simply asking you to continue.

One page at a time.

One paragraph at a time.

One faithful step at a time.

Paul reminds us that we are to forget the things behind us and press forward.

As writers, that means letting go of missed opportunities, unfinished chapters, and unrealistic expectations.

Instead, focus on the next sentence.

Focus on the next idea.

Focus on the next opportunity God places before you.

You do not have to write an entire book today.

You simply need to write something.

Because words trapped inside your mind can never bless anyone.

But words placed on the page have the power to encourage, heal, inspire, and point people to Christ.

This week, don't strive for perfection.

Strive for progress.

Don't worry about writing brilliantly.

Simply write faithfully.

And trust God to establish the work of your hands.

Because the Author of your story is still writing.

And He is not finished with you yet.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of a new week and fresh mercies. Help me to let go of disappointments and move forward with hope and renewed determination. Give me the discipline to write, the courage to begin, and the faith to trust You with the results. Establish the work of my hands and use my words to glorify You and encourage others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
