Choose Joy
Theme Verse
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."— Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
🌅 Welcome
Good morning, friends!
As we come to the close of another week, it's easy to focus on everything that didn't go as planned—the unfinished tasks, unexpected challenges, disappointments, or burdens we've carried.
Yet God gently reminds us that joy is not found in perfect circumstances.
Joy is found in His presence.
Happiness often depends on what is happening around us, but the joy of the Lord comes from knowing that God is still in control, still faithful, and still working all things together for our good.
Every sunrise is a reminder that God's mercy has been renewed once again.
Every breath is a gift.
Every day is another opportunity to glorify Him.
Today, choose joy.
Not because life is perfect, but because God is.
📖 Scripture Reading
Psalm 118:24

John 15:9–11
✝️ Bible Study
The Apostle Paul wrote many of the most encouraging verses about joy while sitting in prison.
His circumstances were difficult, yet his faith remained strong because his hope was anchored in Christ—not in comfort.
Joy is a decision we make every day.
It is choosing gratitude over complaining.
Hope over despair.
Faith over fear.
Praise over worry.
That doesn't mean we ignore life's hardships.
Jesus Himself experienced sorrow, grief, rejection, and suffering.
But through every trial, He trusted the Father completely.
There will always be reasons to become discouraged.
But there are even greater reasons to rejoice.
God still saves.
God still heals.
God still forgives.
God still answers prayer.
God still performs miracles.
And God still loves you with an everlasting love.
When we intentionally thank Him for His blessings, our perspective begins to change.
Our problems may remain, but our hearts become filled with peace because we remember who is walking beside us.
The joy of the Lord is not temporary.
It is a strength that carries us through every season.
💜 Reflection Questions
What blessings have I overlooked this week?
Have I allowed my circumstances to steal my joy?
How can I intentionally encourage someone today?
What is one reason I can praise God right now?
How can I reflect the joy of Christ to those around me this weekend?
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of another day and another opportunity to walk with You.
Forgive us for the times we allow discouragement, worry, or disappointment to overshadow Your goodness.
Fill our hearts with the joy that only You can give.
Help us to be grateful for both the big blessings and the small ones we often take for granted.
Teach us to praise You in every season, trusting that You are always working for our good and for Your glory.
May our joy become a testimony that points others to Jesus.
Use our words to encourage, our hands to serve, and our lives to reflect Your love.
Bless our families, our churches, our communities, and our nation.
Prepare our hearts for worship this weekend, and help us share Your hope with someone who needs encouragement today.
In the precious name of Jesus,
Amen.
🌼 Friday Challenge
Today, write down five blessings God has given you this week.
Then take a few minutes to thank Him for each one.
If possible, encourage one person today with a phone call, text message, handwritten note, or prayer.
Sometimes the greatest blessing you receive is becoming a blessing to someone else.
🌟 Today's Encouragement
Joy doesn't come from having an easy life.
It comes from walking every day with a faithful God.
No matter what this week has held, God has been with you through every moment.
He has never stopped loving you.
He has never stopped guiding you.
And He will continue to lead you into every new day with grace and strength.
"The joy of the LORD is your strength."— Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
🌿 Closing Thought
As you finish this week, don't carry yesterday's worries into tomorrow. Lay every burden at the feet of Jesus, count your blessings, and choose joy. A grateful heart sees God's fingerprints everywhere. May your Friday be filled with His peace, your heart overflow with His joy, and your life shine brightly for His glory.
Have a blessed Friday, and may the Lord richly bless you and your family! ✝️💜
