Be Still and Know
Theme Verse
"Be still, and know that I am God..."— Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Welcome
Good morning, friends!
We live in a world that is constantly moving. Our schedules are full, our phones never seem to stop, and our minds are often racing from one responsibility to the next. In the middle of life's noise, God gives us a simple invitation:
"Be still."
Being still doesn't always mean sitting in silence. It means quieting our hearts long enough to recognize that God is in control. It means choosing faith over fear, peace over panic, and trust over worry.
When we slow down and spend time in God's presence, we are reminded that He has not forgotten us. He sees every burden we carry, hears every prayer we whisper, and knows every need before we even ask.
Today, pause for a few moments. Lay your worries at His feet and allow His peace to fill your heart.
Scripture Reading

Bible Study
One of the greatest gifts God offers His children is peace.
Not the kind of peace that depends on perfect circumstances, but a peace that remains steady even when life feels uncertain.
When the disciples found themselves in the middle of a violent storm, fear overwhelmed them. Yet Jesus simply spoke, "Peace, be still." Immediately, the wind and waves obeyed Him.
The same Savior who calmed the sea is still calming hearts today.
Perhaps your storm looks different.
Maybe you're carrying grief.
Maybe you're waiting on an answer to prayer.
Maybe you're facing financial pressures, health concerns, family struggles, or decisions that seem overwhelming.
Remember this truth:
The size of your storm never changes the power of your Savior.
God has never been surprised by what you're facing today.
He is already at work.
Sometimes He calms the storm around us.
Sometimes He calms the storm within us.
Either way, He remains faithful.
When we choose to be still before Him, we discover that His presence is greater than our problems and His promises are stronger than our fears.
Reflection Questions
What worries have I been carrying instead of giving them to God?
When was the last time I intentionally sat quietly in God's presence?
How has God brought me through difficult seasons before?
Is there someone who needs to hear God's peace through my encouragement today?
What can I surrender to the Lord before this day is over?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.
Forgive us for the moments when we allow worry to replace our trust in You. Help us to quiet our hearts and remember that You are still on the throne.
Fill us today with Your perfect peace. Calm every anxious thought, strengthen every weary heart, and remind us that nothing we face is beyond Your power.
Teach us to rest in Your promises instead of our circumstances.
Use us today to encourage someone who is struggling, to offer kindness to those who feel forgotten, and to shine the light of Jesus wherever we go.
May our lives reflect Your love, Your grace, and Your peace.
We place our families, our churches, our communities, and our nation into Your hands, trusting that You are always working for Your glory and our good.
In Jesus' precious name we pray,
Amen.
Today's Challenge
Take 15 quiet minutes today with no distractions.
Read Psalm 46 slowly.
Thank God for three specific blessings.
Give Him every concern that's on your heart.
Ask Him to fill you with His peace.
Then spend a few moments simply listening.
You may be surprised how much God speaks when we become still before Him.
Today's Encouragement
Peace isn't found in having all the answers. Peace is found in knowing the One who holds every answer. Whatever today brings, remember that God is already there. Walk confidently, trust completely, and rest in His unfailing love.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."— Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
May your heart be still, your faith be strengthened, and your day be filled with the peace that only God can give. Have a blessed Tuesday! ✝️💜
