A New Month, A Fresh Beginning
Good morning, beloved!
It’s the first day of September, a fresh start and a reminder that God’s mercies are new every morning. As we turn the page on the calendar, let’s also turn our hearts toward Him—trusting that He holds this new month in His hands.
✝️ Verse of the Day
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”— Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
Every day—every sunrise, every season, every new month—is a gift from God. Today, let’s step forward with joy and gratitude.
New months bring new opportunities to live in His purpose.
On This Day in History – September 1
1878 – Emma Nutt became the first female telephone operator, breaking barriers and reminding us of the importance of service.
1939 – World War II began in Europe, a sobering reminder of the need for peace and prayer in our world.
1985 – The wreck of the Titanic was discovered, reminding us of both human innovation and fragility.
National & Heritage Days – September 1
Labor Day (U.S.) – A day to honor the hard work and contributions of all laborers. Scripture reminds us: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” (Colossians 3:23 KJV).
Heritage Note: September often marks harvest festivals in many cultures—a time to celebrate God’s provision and faithfulness.
National Chicken Boy’s Day – A quirky celebration of roadside Americana and creativity.
National No Rhyme (Nor Reason) Day – A playful reminder that even when things don’t seem to “rhyme” in our lives, God still has a reason and plan.
Monday Reflection: Work as Worship
Today, as many enjoy a holiday from work, let’s remember that all labor matters when it’s offered to God. Whether it’s serving at a job, raising a family, helping neighbors, or volunteering, every effort becomes worship when done in His name.
Work with joy, rest with gratitude, and live with purpose.
Monday Prayer
Lord, thank You for this new month and this day of rest and reflection. Teach me to honor You in my work, find joy in my service, and walk faithfully in the calling You’ve given me. May this September be filled with Your blessing and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Challenge
As you enjoy Labor Day, take a moment to thank God for the ability to work and the blessings He provides through it. Write down one way you want to dedicate your work to Him this September.
May your September begin with peace, joy, and renewed hope in Christ.
