Theme: Love That Grows Through Grace
🌤 Morning Reflection
Heavenly Father, thank You for waking us up to another day of Your grace. Help us to walk gently, speak kindly, and love deeply. Let our hearts be gardens where mercy grows and forgiveness blooms. As we go about today, may we carry Your peace into every space we enter and every person we meet. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 💜
📜 Today in History & Heritage
1582: The Gregorian calendar was first adopted in parts of Europe, aligning time with the solar year — a reminder that God is the author of every season and moment.
1860: Grace Bedell, a young girl, wrote to Abraham Lincoln suggesting he grow a beard — advice he took, shaping one of the most iconic looks in American history!
1878: Edison Electric Light Company was established, bringing light into homes — just as we are called to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).
1951: “I Love Lucy” premiered on television, bringing laughter and joy into households across America — joy is still one of God’s sweetest gifts.
Each of these reminds us: God works through creativity, timing, and even small voices to shine light into the world.
✝️ Christian Heritage & Reflection
Today, the Church remembers Saint Teresa of Ávila (1515–1582), a woman of deep prayer, vision, and faith. She was known for her powerful writings about spiritual growth and her intimate relationship with God. Through trials, illness, and misunderstanding, she held fast to one truth — that nothing compares to being one with Christ.
Her famous words still inspire believers today:
“Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you.All things are passing; God never changes.”
Psalm 46:10 (KJV) echoes her heart:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Agape love is rooted in stillness — a love that doesn’t rush or force but grows steady and strong through grace.
🌎 National & Cultural Observances
💌 National I Love Lucy Day – Celebrate laughter and friendship! Let joy be contagious today.
🌾 National Grouch Day – A lighthearted reminder to choose gratitude over grumbling.
🧁 National Cake Decorating Day – A day for creativity — every swirl and color a little reflection of the joy God places in our hearts.
🕊️ Global Handwashing Day – A call to care for ourselves and others through simple acts of cleanliness and compassion.
Even these fun observances remind us that love shows up in small ways — a kind smile, a laugh shared, a hand extended to help.
❤️ Today’s Agape Message: Grace That Grows
Today’s theme is Grace that Grows — because real love isn’t stagnant. It deepens as we walk with God.Saint Teresa teaches us to stay close to the Source — prayer. Edison reminds us that light changes everything. And young Grace Bedell reminds us that even the smallest voice can spark great change.
💭 Reflection Thought:What small thing can you do today to shine God’s light and grace into someone else’s day?
Sometimes it’s just a kind word, a prayer, or a patient smile — but God multiplies small seeds into great harvests of love.
