Resting in God’s Goodness

Good morning, beloved!

Saturdays are often a mix of rest, preparation, and reflection. As we step into the weekend, it’s important to pause and remember the goodness of God. No matter how the week has unfolded, His mercies have carried us here, and His faithfulness remains unshaken.

✝️ Verse of the Day“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”Psalm 34:8 (KJV)

When we pause to reflect on God’s goodness, gratitude fills our hearts and strengthens our faith.

Rest is not just about sleep—it’s about trusting in God’s care.

On This Day in History – September 20

  • 1519 – Ferdinand Magellan set sail on his expedition to circumnavigate the globe, a reminder of courage and discovery.

  • 1973 – Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in the famous “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match, a milestone in sports history and equality.

National Days – September 20

  • National Pepperoni Pizza Day – A fun way to enjoy fellowship around the table.

  • National Punch Day – Celebrating sweet refreshments, just as God refreshes our souls.

  • National Care for Kids Day – A reminder of the call to love and protect the youngest among us.

Saturday Reflection: Finding Rest in Him

True rest doesn’t come from a cleared schedule but from a heart that trusts in God’s goodness. When we choose to slow down and reflect, we make space for His peace to fill us.

God’s goodness is the pillow we rest our souls upon.

Saturday Prayer:Lord, thank You for the gift of rest and the reminder of Your goodness. Help me to pause, breathe, and trust in You today. May my heart be filled with gratitude and my spirit renewed in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge:Take a few minutes today to write down three ways you’ve experienced God’s goodness this week. Share one with someone as encouragement.

May your Saturday be filled with peace, rest, and the sweet assurance of God’s goodness.

With gratitude and love,Sarah M. SkaggsAgape Love Ministry“Rest is found not in the absence of work but in the presence of God’s goodness.”
