Agape Love Blog – Saturday, September 6, 2025Resting in God’s Presence

Good morning, beloved!

The weekend is here—a time to pause, breathe, and be refreshed. But true rest doesn’t come only from slowing down our schedules; it comes from abiding in God’s presence. When we rest in Him, our souls are renewed, and our hearts find peace.

✝️ Verse of the Day“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Jesus doesn’t just give us relief from busyness—He offers deep, soul-level rest.

Rest is not idleness—it is trust in the One who carries every burden.

On This Day in History – September 6

  • 1901 – President William McKinley was shot in Buffalo, New York, a reminder of the fragility of life and the need for God’s protection.

  • 1995 – Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig’s record by playing his 2,131st consecutive Major League Baseball game, a testimony to perseverance and commitment.

National Days – September 6

  • National Read a Book Day – Take time to enjoy God’s Word and other good books that nourish your soul.

  • National Coffee Ice Cream Day – A sweet little blessing to savor and share with loved ones.

Saturday Reflection: Finding True Rest

Rest is not about doing nothing—it’s about finding everything we need in Christ. As you slow down this weekend, take time to sit with Him, pray, and let His peace wash over you.

True rest is not in empty schedules but in full hearts centered on Jesus.

Saturday Prayer:Lord, thank You for being my place of rest. I bring my burdens, worries, and cares to You. Refresh my soul today and fill me with Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge:Set aside at least 15 minutes today for quiet prayer or reflection—no distractions, just you and the Lord.

May your Saturday be filled with calm, renewal, and the blessing of God’s presence.

With peace and rest,Sarah M. SkaggsAgape Love Ministry“Rest is not found in slowing down but in leaning into Christ.”
