# ☀️ Good Saturday Morning, Friends!
Happy Saturday! 💜
Have you ever looked back over your life and realized just how many different versions of **you** there have been?
The young you.
The newly married you.
The parent raising children.
The employee learning a career.
The person building a business.
The caregiver.
The grandparent.
The person walking through grief.
The person beginning again.
The person discovering dreams you didn't even know you had.
Life comes in seasons.
And one of the biggest mistakes we can make when searching for our God-given calling is believing:
### **“If God called me to something once, I must do exactly that forever.”**
Sometimes God does give lifelong assignments.
But sometimes He changes the assignment while keeping the purpose.
A season ending doesn't necessarily mean you failed.
Sometimes it simply means:
# **God is turning the page.**

## **Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 (KJV)**

Then Scripture describes the changing seasons of life.
> **“A time to be born, and a time to die...”**
> **“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance...”**
What a realistic picture of life.
Some seasons are joyful.
Some are painful.
Some are productive.
Some require rest.
Some are about building.
Others require letting go.
And faith means trusting that **God remains God through every one of them.**

# 🌿 DISCOVERING YOUR GOD-GIVEN CALLING
## **The Assignment May Change—But the One Who Called You Hasn’t**
Maybe you once served God primarily by raising children.
Then the children grew up.
Did your purpose end?
No.
Perhaps now you encourage younger parents.
Maybe you worked the same career for decades.
Then retirement came.
Did your usefulness end?
Absolutely not.
Maybe you served in one ministry for years and suddenly God closed that chapter.
Don't automatically assume something went wrong.
### God may be preparing another assignment.
Our methods may change.
Our locations may change.
Our jobs may change.
Our abilities may change.
Our responsibilities may change.
But Jesus doesn't.
> **“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”**
> **— Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)**

# 🍂 DON’T KEEP WEARING LAST SEASON’S ASSIGNMENT
Imagine wearing a heavy winter coat in the middle of August.
It was useful in January.
It served an important purpose.
But now the season has changed.
Sometimes spiritually we do the same thing.
We keep trying to hold onto something because:
**“But I've always done this.”**
Maybe God is saying:
**“That was good for that season. Now I have something different.”**
There's nothing wrong with honoring yesterday.
### Just don't allow yesterday to keep you from obeying God today.

Look through an old family photo album.
You'll see babies become children.
Children become adults.
Parents become grandparents.
Homes change.
Fashions certainly change! 😊
But the story continues from one generation to another.
Each generation has an opportunity to take the faith it received and pass it forward.
Maybe you aren't physically able to serve the way you once did.
You can pray.
Maybe you can't travel.
You can encourage.
Maybe you no longer have young children in your home.
You can mentor someone who does.
Maybe your career is winding down.
You have decades of wisdom someone younger desperately needs.
### Your season may change, but you still have something to give.

## **August 29, 1966 — The Beatles Played Their Final Paid Concert**
On August 29, 1966, the Beatles performed at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in what became their final paid concert before retiring from touring.
Their music didn't end.
Their influence didn't disappear.
But the way they worked changed.
And there's an interesting lesson in that.
### **An ending can also become a transition.**
Sometimes one chapter has to close before another can fully begin.
When something changes in your life, don't immediately ask:
**“Why is everything ending?”**
Maybe ask:

Lemons are sour by themselves, yet they can become part of something wonderful.

### God can take bitter experiences and use them to produce something meaningful.

August 29 is recognized internationally as a day encouraging awareness of the effects of nuclear weapons testing and supporting efforts toward a safer and more peaceful world.
It's a fitting opportunity to pray:

🙏 For innocent families affected by conflict
🙏 For those serving in harm's way

## **Don't Be Afraid to Begin Again**
Maybe this season looks nothing like the one you planned.
That's okay.
You are allowed to learn something new.
You are allowed to change directions.
You are allowed to discover a new gift.
You are allowed to begin again.
You are allowed to say:
**“That chapter was beautiful, but God is writing another one.”**
Age doesn't cancel purpose.
Retirement doesn't cancel purpose.
Children growing up doesn't cancel purpose.
A job changing doesn't cancel purpose.
A dream taking a different direction doesn't cancel purpose.
### **As long as God gives you breath, there is still an opportunity to glorify Him.**

**Heavenly Father,**
Thank You for this beautiful Saturday.
Thank You for every season of our lives.
Thank You for the joyful chapters and even for the difficult ones that taught us to depend upon You.
Lord, help us recognize when a season is changing.
Give us wisdom to know what to hold onto and what to release.
When You close a door, help us trust You.
When You open another, give us courage to walk through it.
When we're waiting, teach us patience.
When we're grieving, comfort us.
When we're beginning again, give us hope.
Help us never believe that age, change, disappointment, or transition has taken away our purpose.
Today we pray for those facing a new season they didn't choose.
Strengthen them.
For those who are grieving...
Comfort them.
For those who are sick...
Bring healing.
For those struggling financially...
Provide.
For those facing changes in their families...
Give peace.
For those beginning new careers, ministries, businesses, schools, or opportunities...
Give wisdom and courage.
Protect our children and grandchildren.
Strengthen our churches.
Guide our leaders.
And wherever You have planted us in this season, help us faithfully serve You there.

### **Use what's already in your hands.**
### **Your calling is bigger than your title.**
And today:
# **Be faithful in your present season.**
You don't have to live yesterday again.
And you don't have to figure out tomorrow today.
God has given you **this day.**
This season.
This opportunity.
So instead of saying:
**“I wish things were the way they used to be...”**
Maybe today we say:
### **“Lord, show me what You want to do now.”**
Because sometimes the greatest adventure with God begins when we're brave enough to turn the page.
