A simple, soul-warming classic — tender beef, soft noodles, and rich broth made to comfort.

This soup is the kind you let simmer while the house is quiet — familiar flavors, gentle warmth, and deep comfort.

🄩 Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef stew meat or chuck roast, cut into small pieces

  • 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 carrots, sliced

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 5 cups beef broth

  • 1½ cups egg noodles (or broken spaghetti)

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: bay leaf

  1. Brown the BeefHeat butter or bacon grease in a Dutch oven. Brown beef lightly on all sides.

  2. Build the BaseAdd onion and garlic; cook until fragrant.

  3. Add Vegetables & BrothStir in carrots, celery, broth, thyme, pepper, and bay leaf.Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat.
