🍲 Slow-Simmered Chicken & Dressing Camp Soup
A Sunday-style comfort soup — tender chicken, savory dressing, and rich broth in every spoonful.
Serves: 6–8Cook Time: 50–60 minutes
This soup brings that familiar “Sunday dinner” feeling into a warm, soothing bowl.
🐔 Ingredients
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, chopped
2 cups cooked shredded chicken
5 cups chicken broth
1½ cups prepared cornbread dressing (crumbled)
1 tsp poultry seasoning
½ tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
🍳 Instructions
Build the BaseIn a Dutch oven, melt butter. Add onion and garlic; cook until fragrant.
Add Vegetables & BrothStir in carrots and celery. Pour in broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
Add Chicken & SeasoningAdd shredded chicken, poultry seasoning, pepper, and salt.
Add DressingGently stir in cornbread dressing. Simmer 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soup thickens slightly.
ServeLadle into bowls and serve warm with biscuits or crackers.
