A simple, no-frills winter soup — rich broth, tender beef, and comforting potatoes.

This is the kind of soup that quietly simmers while the day unfolds — dependable, filling, and deeply comforting.

🄩 Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef stew meat or chuck roast, cubed

  • 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 4 medium potatoes, diced

  • 2 carrots, sliced

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

  • 4½ cups beef broth

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: bay leaf

  1. Brown the BeefHeat butter or bacon grease in a Dutch oven. Brown beef lightly on all sides.
