“A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench…”— Isaiah 42:3

🌿 Devotional Thought

Grief can leave your heart feeling fragile.

Like a bruised reed—bent, but not broken.Like a small flame—flickering, but still there.

Some days you may feel strong…and other days, even the smallest things can feel overwhelming.

And in those moments, you may wonder:

“Am I too broken?”“Will I ever feel whole again?”

But God’s Word gives us a tender promise:

He handles your heart with gentleness.

Isaiah 42:3 reminds us that God does not crush what is already hurting.

He doesn’t rush your healing.He doesn’t expect you to be “back to normal.”He doesn’t push you beyond what you can bear.

Instead…

He gently restores.

He nurtures what feels fragile.He protects what feels weak.He strengthens you in quiet, steady ways.

Your heart may feel bruised…but it is not beyond healing.

That small flame within you—the love, the memories, the hope—

God is carefully protecting it.

So today, if you feel fragile…

Be gentle with yourself.

And trust that God is being gentle with you too.

Lord,When our hearts feel fragile, thank You for handling us with such gentleness. Help us to trust Your healing process and not rush what You are restoring. Strengthen us in Your love and bring peace to the tender places in our hearts.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
