“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”— Psalm 34:18

🌿 Devotional Thought

Grief can sometimes make you feel alone… even when you’re not.

You may be surrounded by people who care,yet your heart still feels distant…like no one fully understands the depth of what you’re carrying.

There is a quiet loneliness that can come with loss.

But God gives us this beautiful promise in Psalm 34:18:

He is close to the brokenhearted.

Not far away.Not waiting for you to be “strong again.”Not expecting you to have it all together.

Close.

Closer than the tears on your face.Closer than the thoughts in your mind.Closer than the ache in your heart.

When your heart is broken, God doesn’t step back—He draws nearer.

He sits with you in the quiet.He stays with you in the pain.He gently comforts you in ways only He can.

You may not always feel Him…but His presence is not based on feelings.

It is based on His promise.

And His Word is true.

So today, if grief feels heavy…

Pause for a moment.

Take a deep breath.

And remind your heart:

God is right here.

You are not alone in this moment.You are not alone in this journey.

You are deeply seen…deeply known…and gently held by Him.

Lord,When grief makes us feel alone, remind us that You are near. Draw close to our broken hearts and fill the empty spaces with Your presence. Help us feel Your comfort and trust that You are walking with us through every moment.In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
