"One Day Closer to the Reunion"

Scripture (KJV)

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."— 1 Thessalonians 4:13

🌿 Devotional Thought

One of the greatest comforts for a Christian is knowing that goodbye is not forever.

As believers, we grieve because we love deeply. We miss the conversations, the laughter, the hugs, and the special moments we shared with those who have gone on before us.

Jesus never told us we wouldn't grieve.

But He did give us something the world cannot offer—

Hope.

Not wishful thinking.

Not empty words.

But the confident assurance that because Jesus conquered death, those who have placed their faith in Him have eternal life.

Every sunrise that God allows us to see is another reminder that we are one day closer to the glorious reunion He has promised.

Can you imagine that moment?

The pain of separation will be gone.

There will be no more hospitals.

No more funerals.

No more tears.

No more empty chairs.

Only joy.

Only peace.

Only the presence of our Savior and the loved ones who have gone before us in Christ.

Until that beautiful day arrives, God has given each of us a purpose.

There are people who need your smile.

There are hearts that need your encouragement.

There are stories of God's faithfulness that only you can tell.

Your loved one would want you to continue living fully while honoring the memories you shared together.

So don't let grief steal the hope that Jesus purchased for you on Calvary.

Lift your eyes toward Heaven.

Remember His promises.

And know that every day you faithfully walk with the Lord brings you one step closer to the greatest reunion of all.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the hope we have through Jesus Christ. Thank You that death is not the end for those who belong to You. When our hearts ache with missing those we love, remind us that this separation is only temporary. Fill us with Your peace, strengthen our faith, and help us live each day with joy, purpose, and anticipation of the glorious reunion You have prepared for Your children.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Amen.
