“If I Could See You One More Time”

📖 Scripture — KJV

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying.”Revelation 21:4

🌿 Devotional Thought

If you've ever lost someone you deeply love, you've probably had this thought:

“If I could just see you one more time…”

One more hug.

One more conversation.

One more Sunday dinner.

One more cup of coffee.

One more photograph.

One more chance to hear their laugh.

One more chance to say:

“I love you.”

We know one more would probably never feel like enough.

Because when you love someone deeply, your heart always wants more time.

Grief is painful because love was real.

And today, if your heart is aching for just one more moment, God understands.

💜 What Would You Do With One More Day?

If God gave you one more ordinary day with the person you miss, what would you do?

Would you plan something extravagant?

Maybe.

But I imagine many of us would choose the simplest things.

We'd sit around the kitchen table.

We'd listen more carefully.

We'd ask questions.

We'd hold their hand.

We'd take pictures.

We'd laugh about old stories.

We'd hug a little longer.

And we'd probably say:

“I love you” over and over again.

Grief teaches us that the ordinary moments weren't ordinary at all.

They were treasures.

🌷 Don't Let “One More Time” Become Regret

Sometimes thinking about one more day can bring regret.

“I should have called.”

“I should have visited.”

“I should have said something differently.”

“I wish I had known that would be our last conversation.”

Friend, be careful not to allow grief to rewrite an entire lifetime of love around one moment you wish had been different.

None of us knew which ordinary day would someday become a final memory.

We are human.

We didn't love perfectly.

We didn't say everything perfectly.

But there were thousands of moments that mattered.

Give your regrets to God.

His grace is bigger than your “if only.”

🌿 Let Grief Teach You How to Love Today

We cannot return to yesterday.

But we can allow yesterday to change the way we live today.

Call the person you've been meaning to call.

Sit with your parents and ask them about their childhood.

Listen to Grandpa's story again.

Write down Grandma's recipe.

Take photographs even if nobody thinks they look perfect.

Have coffee with the friend.

Tell your children you're proud of them.

Hug your grandchildren.

Forgive.

Apologize.

Say:

“I love you.”

Don't wait for a special occasion to make an ordinary moment special.

Someday, someone may treasure today's ordinary moment more than you could ever imagine.

🕊️ For the Christian, Goodbye Is Not Forever

This is where our hope changes everything.

Revelation tells us there is coming a day when:

There will be no more death.

No more funeral homes.

No more cemetery goodbyes.

No more empty chairs.

No more phone numbers we can't call.

No more anniversaries of loss.

No more tears caused by separation.

No more goodbye.

Our hope is not found in pretending death doesn't hurt.

Our hope is found in Jesus Christ.

Through Him, death does not have the final word.

And for those who belong to Christ, earthly separation is not the end of the story.

What a day that will be.

🌸 Until Then…

Until that day, we keep living.

We keep loving.

We keep remembering.

We speak their names.

We tell their stories.

We laugh at the funny memories.

We cry when our hearts need to.

We treasure the people who are still beside us.

And we keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus.

Some days will be easier.

Some days will still hurt.

But every day brings us one day closer to eternity.

🙏 Friday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Today I pray for everyone who wishes they could see someone they love just one more time.

You know the names on our hearts.

You know the conversations we wish we could have.

You know the hugs we desperately miss.

Comfort us today.

For anyone carrying regret, replace it with grace.

For anyone carrying guilt, bring peace.

Help us remember the entire story of love instead of focusing only on what we wish we could change.

And Lord, let our grief teach us to love the people who are still here more intentionally.

Help us make the call.

Take the picture.

Give the hug.

Forgive quickly.

Listen patiently.

And say “I love you” while we have the opportunity.

Most of all, thank You for Jesus.

Thank You for the hope of eternal life and the promise of a day when sorrow, crying, separation, and death will be no more.

Until then, carry us.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Amen.

Love them while you have today.

💜 Agape Love Friday Reminder

If you could see them one more time, you'd probably hold them tighter, listen longer, and say “I love you” again. We cannot return to yesterday, but we can let the love we carry change the way we live today. Treasure the people who are still here. Speak the names of those who are gone. Tell their stories. And hold tightly to Jesus.

For those whose hope is in Christ, the last goodbye is not the end of the story. One day, there will be no more death, no more sorrow, no more tears—and no more goodbye. 💜🕊️
