💜 Agape Love Daily Grief Support Devotional 💜Tuesday, August 25, 2026“When You Wish You Could Tell Them One More Thing”

“When You Wish You Could Tell Them One More Thing”

📖 Scripture — KJV

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”— 1 Peter 5:7

🌿 Devotional Thought

One of the hardest parts of losing someone we love is realizing there are conversations we can no longer have.

Sometimes you think:

“I wish I could tell them what happened today.”

You want to pick up the phone and call.

You want to hear their advice.

You want to tell them about the grandchildren.

You want to share the good news.

You want to ask one more question.

Or maybe you simply want to say:

“I love you” one more time.

There may even be things left unsaid.

Words you wish you had spoken.

Questions you wish you had asked.

Apologies you wish you had made.

Or maybe you would give anything for one more ordinary conversation about absolutely nothing.

Grief has a way of making us realize just how precious those ordinary conversations really were.

đź’ś Give Those Words to God

When your heart is full of things you wish you could say, take those words to the Lord.

First Peter tells us:

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

That includes the conversations you miss.

That includes the regrets.

That includes the unanswered questions.

That includes the things you wish had happened differently.

God already knows.

You don't have to carry the weight of “if only” for the rest of your life.

Bring it to Jesus.

Tell Him everything.

Tell Him what hurts.

Tell Him what you miss.

Tell Him what you wish you could change.

And then ask Him to help you release what you cannot change into His loving hands.

🌸 Don't Let Regret Rewrite the Whole Story

Grief sometimes magnifies the things we wish we had done differently.

“I should have called more.”

“I should have visited more.”

“I shouldn't have said that.”

“I wish our last conversation had been different.”

But friend, don't allow one moment to rewrite an entire lifetime of love.

Relationships are made up of thousands of moments.

There were conversations.

Laughter.

Hugs.

Meals.

Birthdays.

Holidays.

Ordinary Tuesdays.

Good days.

Difficult days.

And love woven through all of them.

None of us loves perfectly.

None of us gets every moment right.

Give yourself grace.

And give what you cannot fix to God.

🕊️ Say the Words While You Can

Grief teaches us something important about those who are still here.

Don't wait.

Tell people you love them.

Make the phone call.

Take the picture.

Go visit.

Forgive.

Apologize.

Sit around the table a little longer.

Ask Momma or Daddy about their childhood.

Listen to Grandma tell that story you've heard a hundred times.

Ask Grandpa about the old photograph.

Write down the family recipes.

Learn the family history.

One day, those ordinary conversations may become priceless memories.

We cannot change yesterday.

But we can allow yesterday to teach us how to love better today.

🌿 Keep Telling Their Story

Just because you can no longer talk to your loved one doesn't mean you have to stop talking about them.

Speak their name.

Tell their stories.

Share the funny memories.

Tell your children and grandchildren about them.

Keep their traditions alive.

Let the love they gave you continue through the way you love others.

Their life mattered.

Their story matters.

And the love you shared will always be part of yours.

🙏 Tuesday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

You know every word sitting quietly inside our hearts.

You know the conversations we wish we could have again and the things we wish we could say one more time.

Today we give those words to You.

For anyone carrying regret, bring peace.

For anyone carrying guilt, bring grace.

For anyone desperately missing the sound of a loved one's voice, bring comfort.

Help us stop living beneath the weight of what we cannot change.

Instead, teach us to treasure what was beautiful and allow what we have learned through loss to change the way we love the people who are still here.

Help us say “I love you” freely.

Help us forgive quickly.

Help us make time for one another.

And when grief becomes heavy, remind us that we can cast every care upon You because You care for us.

Thank You for Jesus, for Your unfailing love, and for the eternal hope we have through Him.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Amen.

🌷 Today's Grief Support Reflection

If you could have one more conversation with the person you miss, what would you want to tell them?

Write those words in your journal today.

Then ask yourself:

“Is there something I need to say to someone who is still here?”

If there is, don't wait for the perfect moment.

Make today the moment.

🤍 Need Prayer?

If grief is especially heavy today, we would be honored to pray with you.

You don't need to explain everything. You can simply write:

“Please pray for me today.”

đź’ś Agape Love Tuesday Reminder

We cannot go back and have one more yesterday, but God has given us today. Treasure the memories of those who are gone, release the regrets you cannot change, and love the people who are still here intentionally. Make the call. Give the hug. Take the picture. Say “I love you.” Forgive. Listen. Make memories.

One day, today's ordinary moments may become tomorrow's greatest treasures. 💜🕊️
