💜 Agape Love Daily Grief Support Devotional 💜Wednesday, August 26, 2026“God Is Still With You in the Life You Never Planned”

“God Is Still With You in the Life You Never Planned”

📖 Scripture — KJV

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.”— Isaiah 43:2

🌿 Devotional Thought

Grief often leaves us living a life we never planned.

You planned to grow older together.

You thought Momma would be there for another holiday.

You thought Daddy would be there to answer another question.

You imagined watching your children, grandchildren, siblings, or friends experience milestones together.

You thought there would be more birthdays.

More Christmas mornings.

More Sunday dinners.

More phone calls.

More photographs.

More time.

And then life changed.

Sometimes the hardest part of grief isn't only missing the person we lost.

We also grieve the future we thought we would have with them.

That is a grief people don't always see.

💜 “I Will Be With Thee”

I love the promise God gives us in Isaiah 43:2.

Notice that God doesn't say we will never pass through deep waters.

He says:

“I will be with thee.”

Sometimes we pray for God to remove the valley when His answer is to walk through it with us.

And that can be difficult to understand.

There may be questions you carry that will never be answered on this side of Heaven.

There may be moments when you still ask:

“Lord, why did this have to happen?”

God is not afraid of that question.

Bring it to Him.

Bring Him the disappointment.

Bring Him the anger.

Bring Him the confusion.

Bring Him the tears.

Bring Him the plans that never happened.

And then, when you have no more words, simply whisper:

“Jesus, stay close.”

He will.

🌿 You Don't Have to Love What Happened to Trust God

This is important.

Trusting God doesn't mean pretending that what happened didn't hurt.

Faith doesn't require us to call tragedy good.

You can say:

“Lord, I wish this had been different.”

And still say:

“But I trust You.”

You can cry and still believe.

You can question and still pray.

You can hurt and still worship.

You can miss someone desperately and still believe God is faithful.

Grief and faith can exist in the same heart.

🌸 There Is Still Life Ahead

The life before you may not look like the life you imagined.

But different does not mean without purpose.

There are still people who need your love.

There are still prayers God will answer.

There are still people you haven't met yet who may need the testimony God is building through your life.

There are still sunrises.

Still family gatherings.

Still laughter.

Still ministry.

Still opportunities to serve.

Still new memories waiting to be made.

And yes, sometimes making those new memories will feel bittersweet because someone is missing.

Make them anyway.

You are not replacing the memories you already have. You are adding new chapters to the life God has given you.

🕊️ Carry Them With You

As you continue forward, you don't have to leave your loved one behind.

Carry the lessons they taught you.

Tell their stories.

Make their recipes.

Share their photographs.

Repeat their funny sayings.

Teach the next generation who they were.

Do something kind because they taught you kindness.

Love somebody deeply because they showed you how.

Let their life continue producing good through yours.

That is a beautiful legacy.

🙏 Wednesday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes life looks nothing like we thought it would.

We miss the people we expected to still be beside us, and we grieve the moments we thought we would share.

Today, meet us in those places.

For every person walking through a life they never planned, remind them that they are not walking it alone.

When the waters feel deep, hold us.

When questions remain unanswered, give us peace.

When memories bring tears, comfort us.

And when beautiful moments come, help us receive them without guilt.

Give us courage to continue living, loving, serving, laughing, and making memories.

Help us carry forward the beautiful lessons of those we miss while keeping our eyes upon Jesus.

Thank You that even when life changes, You never do.

In Jesus' precious Name,

Amen.

🌷 Today's Grief Support Reflection

Think about the person you miss and ask:

“What is something they taught me that I want to carry forward?”

Maybe it was generosity.

Faith.

Hard work.

Hospitality.

Humor.

Cooking.

Forgiveness.

Family traditions.

Write it down, and then find one way to live it out today.

Their legacy can continue through you.

🤍 Need Prayer?

If you're walking through a life you never expected and need someone to stand with you in prayer, we'd be honored to pray for you.

You can simply write:

“Please pray for me today.”

đź’ś Agape Love Wednesday Reminder

Maybe this isn't the life you planned. Maybe someone you were certain would be beside you is now deeply missed. But this is not the end of your story. God is still here. He is still good. He is still holding you. Carry the memories, treasure the love, make new memories without guilt, and keep walking with Jesus one day at a time.

The road changed—but the God walking beside you did not. 💜🕊️
