āŖ GOOD SUNDAY MORNING, SWEET FRIENDS!
The sun has risen on another beautiful Lord's Day. Before we rush into everything waiting for us today, let's begin with the One who gave us this day.
Pour that cup of coffee, open your Bible, and take a moment to say:
āThank You, Lord, for another Sunday.ā
Maybe this week was wonderful.
Maybe it was exhausting.
Maybe you received an answer to prayer.
Or maybe you're still waiting.
Whatever kind of week you've had, today is another opportunity to worship the God who has been faithful through every single part of it.
š āThis is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.ā ā Psalm 118:24 KJV
And friends, if you are able, go to church today.
Don't wait until everything in your life is perfect.
Don't wait until you feel like you have everything figured out.
Come just as you are.
There may be a song you need to hear, a Scripture your heart needs, a prayer waiting to be prayed, or someone sitting in that congregation who needs the encouragement only you can give.
ā¤ļø There's a place for you in the house of God.

š THIS DAY IN HISTORY ā OCTOBER 4
ā°ļø 1927 ā Work began on Mount Rushmore.Ā Sculptor Gutzon Borglum began the enormous project in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The carving would take years of work and eventually become one of America's most recognizable landmarks.
š 1957 ā Sputnik 1 was launched.Ā The Soviet Union placed the world's first artificial satellite into orbit, beginning a new era of space exploration and intensifying the Space Race.
š©šŖ 1990 ā German reunification had just taken place the day before, October 3, bringing East and West Germany together after decades of division. October 4 became the first full day of the newly reunified Germany.
š World Space Week begins October 4, chosen in part to commemorate the launch of Sputnik 1.
History reminds us how quickly the world can change.
But God's Word reminds us:
š āJesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.ā ā Hebrews 13:8 KJV
Governments change.
Generations change.
Technology changes.
Our lives change.
But Jesus does not.
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
āļø CHRISTIAN HERITAGE ā FRANCIS OF ASSISI
October 4 is traditionally remembered by several Christian denominations as the Feast of Francis of Assisi.
Francis lived during the 12th and 13th centuries and became known for choosing a simple life of service, caring for the poor, and appreciating God's creation.
We don't have to belong to a particular denomination to appreciate the biblical truth his life reminds us of:
Following Jesus should change how we treat people.
š āBy this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.ā ā John 13:35 KJV
People may forget many of the words we say.
But they often remember whether we showed them love.

š FUN & INTERESTING HOLIDAYS TODAY
š¾ World Animal DayĀ ā A day that brings attention to the care and welfare of animals around the world.
š® National Taco DayĀ ā Sunday dinner might have just gotten easier! š®š
š°ļø World Space Week BeginsĀ ā October 4ā10 celebrates space science and technology and their contributions to life here on Earth.
ā³ National Golf Lovers DayĀ is also observed todayāso if somebody disappears after church carrying golf clubs, we may know where they went! š
And here's a little Sunday challenge:
ā¤ļø Do one unexpected act of kindness today.
Pay for someone's coffee.
Call someone who lives alone.
Invite somebody to lunch.
Tell your pastor you appreciate them.
Send an encouraging message.
Sometimes the smallest kindness becomes somebody else's biggest blessing.

š” HERITAGE CORNER ā SUNDAY MORNING MEMORIES
There was a time when Sunday morning looked a little different in many homes.
Children were up early getting ready for church.
Sunday clothes were laid out.
Shoes might have been polished the night before.
Mama was making sure everyone was dressed.
Daddy was reminding everyone it was time to leave.
And somehowādespite all the rushingāfamilies eventually made it into the church pew. ā¤ļø
There were hymnals.
Sunday School classes.
Church fans tucked into the pews.
Handshakes at the door.
Dinner waiting afterward.
And sometimes Grandma had already put something in the oven before leaving for church.
Those memories are part of our heritage.
But the most important thing wasn't the clothes, the meal, or even the traditions.
It was teaching another generation that worshiping God mattered.
š āOne generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.ā ā Psalm 145:4 KJV
ā¤ļø HERITAGE QUESTION:
What is one Sunday morning memory from your childhood that still makes you smile?
Maybe it was a favorite hymn, Sunday School teacher, church dinner, Grandma's cooking, or simply sitting beside someone you loved.
Share it with us. ā¤ļø

š YESTERDAY'S BIBLE TRIVIA ANSWER
Yesterday I asked:
What woman in the Bible hid the Israelite spies and helped them escape from Jericho?
š„š„š„
The answer is...
ā¤ļø B. RAHAB!
You can read her story in Joshua 2 KJV.
Rahab hid the spies and helped them escape through a window using a cord.
And her story didn't end there.
Her name eventually appears in the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1.
What a reminder:
God can take a life that others may have written off and write an entirely new story.
How many of you got it right? ā¤ļø

š TODAY'S BIBLE READING
Psalm 122 KJV
Today's key verse:
š āI was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.ā ā Psalm 122:1 KJV
As you head to church today, don't go merely because it's Sunday.
Go expecting something.
Go ready to worship.
Go ready to listen.
Go ready to encourage somebody.
Go ready for God to speak to your heart.
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
š» TODAY'S INSPIRATION ā DON'T JUST ATTEND CHURCH
Friends, it's possible to sit in a church pew every Sunday and still miss what God wants us to do Monday through Saturday.
We sing about love on Sunday.
Do we show it Monday?
We hear about forgiveness.
Do we practice it?
We pray for those who are hurting.
Do we check on them?
We talk about helping people.
Do we stop when somebody actually needs help?
Church isn't supposed to end when the preacher says, āAmen.ā
That's when we take what we've learned out into the world.
Your workplace is a mission field.
Your neighborhood is a mission field.
The grocery store can be a mission field.
Your own family can be a mission field.
You don't have to stand behind a pulpit to minister.
Sometimes ministry looks like listening.
Sometimes it looks like feeding someone.
Sometimes it looks like forgiving.
Sometimes it looks like praying quietly for somebody who may never know you prayed.
And sometimes it simply looks like loving people when loving them isn't easy.
ā¤ļø Don't just go to church today. Be the church when you leave.
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
š LET'S PRAY TOGETHER
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for waking us up this beautiful Sunday morning.
Thank You for another opportunity to worship You.
Lord, bless every church where Your Word is being faithfully preached today. Strengthen every pastor, Sunday School teacher, musician, volunteer, and person serving behind the scenes.
Prepare our hearts before we enter Your house.
Help us lay aside distractions, worries, and burdens long enough to hear what You want to say to us.
Comfort those who are grieving today. Touch those who are sick. Encourage those who are lonely. Provide for families struggling financially. Give strength to those who feel like they can't take another step.
And Lord, help us notice the person who needs us today.
May we not simply talk about Your love.
Help us show it.
When we leave church today, help us carry Jesus into our homes, workplaces, communities, and everywhere we go.
In Jesus' precious name,
Amen. ā¤ļø
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
ā SUNDAY FOOD FOR THOUGHT
What if somebody's only glimpse of Jesus today comes through the way you treat them?
ā¤ļø Love a little deeper.š Pray a little longer.š¤ Forgive a little quicker.š Smile at somebody.š Spend time in His Word.āŖ And if you canāgo to church.
You never know what God has waiting for you there.
Have a beautiful and blessed Sunday, sweet friends!
And never forget:
ā¤ļø God is right on time!
