You Were Created to Make a Difference

☀️ Good Saturday Morning, Friends!

Happy Saturday! 💜

As I sit here thinking about today's message, one thought keeps coming to my heart:

Every life has value, and every person can make a difference.

Sometimes we imagine that making a difference requires doing something enormous.

Starting a worldwide ministry.

Having thousands of followers.

Writing a bestselling book.

Leading a large organization.

Giving away thousands of dollars.

But some of the greatest differences we make will never receive public recognition.

Maybe it's the child who remembers that you believed in them.

The grieving person who remembers that you sat beside them when everyone else had gone home.

The struggling family who remembers the groceries quietly left on their porch.

The coworker who remembers the day you noticed they weren't okay.

The stranger who remembers that you treated them with kindness.

The person who found Jesus because you weren't afraid to share your faith.

Friend, never underestimate what God can do through a willing heart.

📖 Today's Bible Reading

Ephesians 2:8–10 (KJV)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”“Not of works, lest any man should boast.”“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works...”

I love the word workmanship.

You weren't thrown together accidentally.

God created you intentionally.

Your personality.

Your gifts.

Your compassion.

Your experiences.

Your abilities.

Even some of the lessons you've learned through difficult seasons can become tools God uses to minister to somebody else.

But notice the order in this passage.

We're not saved because of our good works.

We're saved by grace through faith.

Then, because we belong to Christ, our lives can produce good works that glorify Him.

We don't serve to earn God's love.

We serve because He has already loved us.

🌿 Discovering Your God-Given Calling

Your Calling May Be Closer Than You Think

Sometimes we're praying:

“Lord, show me my ministry.”

While God is saying:

“Look around you.”

Who has He already placed in your life?

Your family?

Your coworkers?

Your neighbors?

Your church family?

Your customers?

Your friends online?

The person sitting alone?

The senior who needs someone to listen?

The young person who needs encouragement?

The grieving parent who needs someone who understands?

We can spend years looking for our “big calling” while walking past today's opportunity.

Your calling isn't always somewhere far away.

Sometimes it's standing right in front of you.

💜 Ministry Doesn't Always Have a Microphone

I think we sometimes make ministry too complicated.

Ministry can look like:

🙏 Praying with someone.

🍲 Cooking a meal.

☎️ Making a phone call.

💌 Sending an encouraging card.

🛒 Helping someone who is struggling.

📖 Teaching a child Scripture.

👵 Visiting a senior.

❤️ Sitting quietly with someone who is grieving.

😊 Greeting someone who feels invisible.

⛪ Inviting someone to church.

✝️ Telling someone about Jesus.

You may never know this side of Heaven how much one act of kindness changed someone's life.

But God knows.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused, and imprisoned.

Yet eventually God raised him to a position of leadership in Egypt.

Joseph later told his brothers:

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good...”— Genesis 50:20 (KJV)

What an incredible reminder:

A difficult chapter doesn't mean God has abandoned your story.

🇺🇸 Heritage & Legacy

Leave Something Money Cannot Buy

What kind of inheritance do we want to leave behind?

Of course, we'd love to leave our families financially secure.

We may leave homes.

Family heirlooms.

Photographs.

Recipes.

Jewelry.

Books.

Businesses.

But there's an inheritance worth far more than anything money can purchase:

Faith.

Leave them memories of you praying.

Leave them a Bible with notes written in the margins.

Leave them stories about God's faithfulness.

Leave them examples of generosity.

Leave them memories of kindness.

Leave them the knowledge that when life became difficult, you turned toward Jesus instead of away from Him.

“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.”— Proverbs 20:7 (KJV)

That's a beautiful legacy.

August 22, 1902 — Theodore Roosevelt Became the First Sitting U.S. President to Make a Public Automobile Ride

At a time when automobiles were still relatively new, President Theodore Roosevelt's public ride reflected how quickly technology and transportation were beginning to change everyday American life.

Imagine how much the world has changed since then!

From automobiles to airplanes...

From handwritten letters to instant messages...

From radio to television to social media...

Technology changes.

Culture changes.

Generations change.

But God's Word remains.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”— Matthew 24:35 (KJV)

What a comforting truth in a constantly changing world.

Those tiny childhood traditions become sweet memories before we know it.

🐾 National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day

A little reminder for our cat-loving friends to keep those furry family members healthy. 🐱

And as summer begins winding down, take some time this weekend to enjoy God's creation, family, fellowship, and the simple blessings of home.

🌻 Inspiration for Today

Do for One What You Wish You Could Do for Everyone

Sometimes the needs around us feel overwhelming.

We can't feed everyone.

We can't comfort every grieving family.

We can't solve every problem.

We can't help every person.

And because we can't do everything, we're sometimes tempted to do nothing.

But what if we changed our thinking?

You may not be able to help everyone—but you can help someone.

Buy one meal.

Encourage one person.

Pray for one family.

Visit one senior.

Help one child.

Share Jesus with one person.

One matters.

Jesus often ministered to individuals.

One woman at a well.

One blind man.

One tax collector.

One grieving family.

One thief hanging beside Him.

Never underestimate the importance of one.

🌸 Five Saturday Reminders

💜 You were created intentionally.

🙏 Your prayers make a difference.

❤️ Small acts of love matter.

🌿 You don't need a title to have a ministry.

✨ God can use you right where you are.

🌻 Saturday Challenge

Bless One Person Today

Before this day ends, intentionally bless one person.

It doesn't have to cost money.

Call someone who's lonely.

Tell someone you appreciate them.

Send an encouraging Scripture.

Help someone carry groceries.

Pray with someone.

Sit with someone who's hurting.

Leave a generous tip if you're able.

Whatever God places on your heart...

Do it.

Don't wait for someone else.

You may be the answer to a prayer they prayed this morning.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this beautiful Saturday.

Thank You for creating each of us with purpose.

Thank You for the gifts, experiences, resources, and opportunities You have placed in our hands.

Lord, open our eyes today.

Help us notice the people around us.

Show us the lonely.

Show us the discouraged.

Show us the grieving.

Show us the person who simply needs someone to listen.

And when You show us an opportunity to serve, help us not to become too busy to respond.

Use our hands to help.

Use our words to encourage.

Use our homes to welcome.

Use our resources to bless.

Use our testimonies to bring hope.

And use our lives to point people toward Jesus.

Today we pray for those who are grieving.

Comfort them.

For those who are sick...

Bring healing.

For those struggling financially...

Provide.

For families facing difficulties...

Bring peace.

For our children and grandchildren...

Protect and guide them.

For our churches and pastors...

Strengthen them.

And for anyone wondering whether their life matters...

Remind them that they are Your workmanship, created intentionally and loved deeply.

May everything we do bring honor and glory to You.

In Jesus' precious name,

And keep saying yes when God places opportunities in front of you.

Because one ordinary person...

with one willing heart...

serving one extraordinary God...

can make an incredible difference.
