CASTING STONES ❤️

Good morning, family and friends!

As I sit here drinking my coffee and studying God's Word this morning, something has been weighing heavy on my heart.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU START CASTING STONES!

Sometimes when God's Word steps on our toes and reveals something in our lives that isn't right, instead of looking in the mirror and asking God to help us change, we get angry.

We blame the preacher.

We blame the church.

We blame somebody who spoke the truth.

And sometimes we even use it as an excuse to walk away from church altogether.

Y'all, that is so sad.

Sometimes I wonder if we already had one foot out the door and were just waiting for an excuse to jump ship.

But here's something we all need to remember:

SOMEONE ELSE'S WRONG DOESN'T MAKE OUR WRONG RIGHT!

Jesus said:

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." — John 8:7 KJV

Before we start pointing fingers, spreading stories, or making judgments about situations we know very little about, we need to stop and examine our own hearts.

And before we use someone else's mistakes to justify walking away from God, we need to remember WHO we are supposed to be following.

We follow JESUS, not people!

Now, I'm not saying every person who leaves a church is running from conviction. Sometimes people are genuinely hurt, and there are situations that need to be addressed. But we need to be honest with ourselves about our own hearts and motives.

The Bible says:

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." — James 1:22 KJV

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it:

LET'S GET BACK TO THE BASICS!

Stop allowing the world to tell you what God's Word should mean.

Stop looking for somebody to tell you what you want to hear.

Open your Bible. Study it. Pray over it. And when God reveals something in YOUR life, don't run from Him—run TO Him!

I don't want to become so busy looking at everybody else's mistakes that I overlook my own.

I want a heart that is humble enough to say:

"Lord, if I'm wrong, show me. If I need to repent, help me. If I need to forgive, give me the strength. And if Your Word steps on my toes, help me change instead of making excuses."

🙏 Lord, help us put down the stones and pick up Your Word. Give us wisdom not to judge situations we don't fully understand. Help us stop making excuses for our own sin and start examining our hearts. Bring us back to the basics of prayer, repentance, forgiveness, love, and standing upon Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.

❤️ Don't let somebody else's actions become your excuse to walk away from Jesus.
