Show Up for the Story God Gave You

📖 Today’s Scripture

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

Good Monday morning, authors! 💜📚

It's a brand-new week.

A fresh Monday.

A fresh opportunity.

Maybe you've already opened your manuscript this morning.

Maybe you haven't touched it in days.

Maybe you're excited about your story.

Or maybe you're sitting there thinking:

“I just don't feel inspired.”

Here's something I've learned about dreams:

We can't always wait until we feel like doing the work.

Inspiration may help us begin.

But faithfulness is often what helps us finish.

🌿 You Won't Feel Inspired Every Day

Some writing days are wonderful.

The words flow.

The characters cooperate.

The chapter practically writes itself.

You finish thinking:

“This is why I love writing!”

Then there are other days. 😊

You stare at the same paragraph for twenty minutes.

You make another cup of coffee.

You check your phone.

You rearrange something on your desk that absolutely did not need rearranging.

And suddenly cleaning the refrigerator sounds more appealing than finishing Chapter Seven. 😂

Those days don't mean you've lost your gift.

They mean you're human.

Good writers aren't necessarily inspired every day. They learn to keep showing up.

💜 Faithfulness Happens in Small Things

Sometimes we think we need hours of uninterrupted time before writing is worthwhile.

But what if you only have twenty minutes?

Use them.

What if you can only write 300 words?

Write them.

What if all you can accomplish today is fixing one page?

Fix it.

Small acts of faithfulness add up.

Think about it:

If you wrote just 300 words a day for 100 days, you would have 30,000 words.

Those little writing sessions that don't feel significant can eventually become chapters.

And chapters become books.

Don't underestimate consistent small beginnings.

✍️ Treat Your Writing Like Something That Matters

We make appointments for things that are important.

Doctor appointments.

Work meetings.

Church activities.

Family commitments.

Business responsibilities.

But sometimes our writing gets whatever time is left over.

And usually...

There isn't much left over.

If God has placed a story on your heart, perhaps it's time to give that story a place on your calendar.

It doesn't have to be hours.

Maybe it's:

6:30–7:00 AM

or

30 minutes after dinner

or

Saturday mornings with coffee.

Choose something that works with your life.

Then protect that little piece of time.

You don't find time for everything that matters. Sometimes you make time.

🌸 Discipline Isn't the Enemy of Creativity

Some writers worry that schedules will make writing feel like work.

Well...

Sometimes writing is work. 😊

But discipline doesn't destroy creativity.

Discipline gives creativity somewhere to show up.

You may sit down without knowing what to write.

But once you begin, the words may come.

The hardest sentence of the day is often the first one.

Start anyway.

💜 Don't Compare Your Schedule to Someone Else's

One author may write 2,000 words every morning.

Wonderful!

Another may write 500 words after the children go to bed.

Wonderful!

Another may only have Saturday afternoon.

That's wonderful too.

The goal isn't to copy somebody else's routine.

The goal is to discover:

“What can I faithfully do in the season of life God has me in?”

Then do that.

Consistency doesn't have to look the same for everyone.

🙏 Monday Author Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this new week and another opportunity to use the gifts You've given us.

Help us become faithful with our writing.

Give us discipline when motivation is low.

Give us creativity when the page feels empty.

Give us wisdom to balance writing with family, work, ministry, rest, and the other responsibilities You've entrusted to us.

Keep us from comparing our progress to someone else's.

Teach us to faithfully use the time we have.

And when we become discouraged because progress seems slow, remind us that small steps taken consistently can accomplish great things.

May our words encourage others and bring honor to You.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.

✍️ MONDAY AUTHOR CHALLENGE

Make an Appointment With Your Book

Today, choose a writing time for this week.

Write it on your calendar:

MY WRITING APPOINTMENT: __________

Then keep it.

During that time:

📱 Put away distractions.

☕ Grab your coffee.

🙏 Say a quick prayer.

📖 Open the manuscript.

✍️ Write.

Don't worry about creating perfect words.

Just show up.

At the end of your writing time, celebrate whatever you accomplished.

One paragraph counts.

One page counts.

One edited chapter counts.

Progress is progress.

💜 MONDAY AUTHORS HUB CHECK-IN!

Let's start the week by helping one another stay accountable.

What's YOUR writing goal this week?

Tell us:

📖 What are you working on?

🎯 What's your goal?

When are you planning to work on it?

And then come back later this week and tell us how you did!

📚 Published Authors

Share your book links and tell us what you're working on next.

✍️ Current Writers

Share your working title and this week's goal.

💡 Future Authors

Maybe your goal this week is simply:

“I'm finally going to begin.”

Tell us your book idea!

Then find someone in the comments and encourage them.

Ask about their project.

Celebrate their progress.

Check back with them.

Let's become a community that doesn't simply promote books.

Let's help one another FINISH them.

🌷 Monday's Encouragement

“You don't have to feel inspired every time you write. Sometimes faithfulness looks like sitting down, opening the manuscript, and giving the story what you have today.”

Don't wait for the perfect mood.

Don't wait for the perfect office.

Don't wait for three uninterrupted hours.

Don't wait until life becomes less busy.

Pray.

Schedule the time.

Open the page.

Write the sentence.

SHOW UP.

Because the book you dream about finishing won't be written by wishing for it.

It will be written...

one faithful writing session at a time. 💜📖✍️

Happy Monday, Authors!
